It tows the 190 good. Need mirror extenders or something. Can't see behind me. I would be worried towing anymore without trailer brakes

What is your towing rate for the 4runner?

How's the 4Runner tow, would you consider towing a bigger boat with it? I was really hoping they would bring back the V8!
Agreed! It's a lot of vehile for a V6 to push while towing. If they offer a small V8 I would make a 4Runner my next vehicle. I don't think I would choose to tow anything more than my 192 with my V6. It's okay enough, but man would I kill for a little more power when I need to accelerate.

Just pulled the boat out of storage.

TeraFlex 3" lift on 35's with Air Lift 1000 bags @ 30PSI.
Have to get a deeper drop hitch to level it out a bit. Also cant load it without using blocks under the boat jack.

The few posts above will show how much the JKU sags with stock suspension.

One of the most important points with towing is to have your trailer as level as possible. With that in mind, I can't recommend this thing (the convert-a-ball) enough! We used it with our Edge, and now with the Ram. Not only does the polyurethane bushing cushion front to back shock, it also cushions the vertical load of the tongue weight. It makes towing so quiet, and so smooth.

Just ordered this ball mount. With the slope of my drive way and the height of the hitch that I currently have on the Suburban, I had to get some thing lower. I will let you guys know how it works with a 2009 Silverado and 2010 Suburban.

You are going to LOVE that hitch. It takes all the harshness out of towing! I wouldn't tow without it!

I just got our hitch installed on our '16 Kia Sorento EX V6 AWD. The hitch receiver sits pretty low. The top of the receiver is only 13" high and the SX190 trailer coupler is at 20". I was thinking a 7" rise would be fine, but i'm wondering if that is enough to also accommodate any tongue weight sag?

Anybody with a similar setup? What size rise tow bar you guys are using?

See the hitch and tow bar above, the convert- a- ball I think? It's cushioned, it's height adjustable, and they work.

Those are nice, but pricey. I was thinking cheaper since I have soo many tow bars already that don't fit. Was looking at a Curt Manuf #45110 or #45112. Both 7" rise. Just not sure if 7" is tall enough.

I would think 7" is plenty tall. You want the trailer level when towing. The closer to perfect level the better the tow. On my Ford Edge I only needed a 3.5"

Yea I was wondering how much sag I might have to adjust for. The 7" inch rise would cover the difference (13" - 20"), but wasn't sure if I'd need an 8" rise to keep it level after the tongue weight and family loaded up.

I have a 7-1/4" drop / 5" rise draw bar that I can flip the ball around to check if level, but pretty sure it'll be too short of a rise to make it level. Plus it's torqued properly already so unscrewing the ball would be a pain. Figured I'd just buy a new one, but wanted to get the proper height the first time.

I have to say I was a bit skeptical about towing with our new 4Runner Ltd, it is a V6. Wife wanted it, she got it of course, you all know how that works.
I have since towed with it quite a bit, both the 190 and also our much heavier (older) o/b ski boat. And that thing tows like a mule. The V6 took a long time, about 5k miles, to fully break in and it started sounding so much better thereafter It is almost like a different engine. So - if your new 4runner sounds so-so at first, do not panic, it gets a lot better. It labors on inclines but it is a good kind of labor, it doesn't sound like it is strained. On the other hand, the stability and breaking power is just surprisingly good. My .02. Have to give it to the wife - she picked a winner, and I would never-ever guessed that before hand. I have been totally into German TDIs. I still am.
