I installed my new dock line stowage today. I used the Home Depot Kobalt rail system (like you would use to organize the garage). I cut the rail in half with a hack saw.
I drilled and screwed the half bar in place behind the helm. I positioned it so it does not block the access or the little circles that hold the fabric screen.
Then I installed a few hooks. The hooks can slide on the bar if you push from the bar side of the hook, but don't move if you push farther out on the hook (e.g. If the load pulls to the side). This way I can configure and reconfigure at will. Also, the hooks can be set with a screw, but I elected not to do that just now.

I took photos, so it did happen.
:)

Really? Hmmm. I did the media thing this time as I had multiple devices involved. Guess that didn't work.

Try this:

Well done. It's always nice having things neatly stowed.

@tdonoughue I like the flexibility of your setup. In my case I had already used part of the area for some wiring distribution buses. I ended up using 2 double coat hangers from Lowe's and a piece of white PVC board to prevent your hands from getting tangled in the helm wiring.

I do like how sturdy those are. I was able to find some tool hooks that are quite large and work well with my large dock lines.

I took a cheap and easy approach, 3M command adhesive hooks. No drilling, easy on and off. They have held up well so far.

I plan to put several of these hooks up this year to hold bumpers and dock lines to try and get everything off the floor of the head compartment glad to hear they are working well.
