Adding a cleat???

So my 2001 LS only has 2 cleats on either side, I was thinking if I am going to tie up at a dock or to another boat, I will need 2 fenders out to keep from banging the side of the boat. I was thinking of adding a third cleat for a dock line, any body done this?? I was thinking of doing it where I am pointing on the pic, rite in front of the horn on the port side, as I will be able to access it from the inside to fasten it. Thanks..

You can hang the fender from the same cleat that you use for a dock line. This is easier if you use a strong but small diameter line on the fender.

I have run a small rope between the cleats along the entire length of the boat to hang fenders exactly where I wanted them.

I believe you will be able to reach the spot you are pointing to from the inside of that storage area.

This might be a good method of doing so.

@Bruce I was thinking about the two line method also, I will try that first, LOL, looks like you are smuggling kids for cheap labor there...

Couldn't you just strap the kids to the side of the boat as fenders too?
