I use a broker and pay $375/yr for mine. I have no idea what the details are though without looking up the policy.
@jeffrt .... you are probably fine but I'd look anyway as you know what they say "the devil is always in the details". One policy I asked about and was told "oh yeah it covers unintentional fuel spills" - NO it didn't. We often cross the St. Lawrence to the American side (pre COVID) and costs and fines for fuel spills in U.S. waters on the water can be enormous (as they should be) even for unintentional ones. Any "sheen" on the water can be a bank breaker. The policy I chose DOES have that rider - for $1,000,000.00 fuel pollution on water. Recently in Canada there have been some hefty fines for on water fuel pollution.

I will be looking this week. I read in my Canadian Power and Sail Squadron literature that there is a relationship with Cowan Insurance. I also read there is a reduction for CPS members.

You got me a bit nervous, so I looked up my policy to see what my coverage is, and first off, I was off on my premium. $375 was what I was paying for my 2006 Seadoo Sportster. Went up to $550 (taxes in) with the Yamaha.
I do have spill coverage for 1 million, and also trailer and gear coverage, towing, etc. Seems pretty decent.
Hopefully I'll never have to use it!

Edit: Coverage is through Premier Marine

I thought I would see about current experiences with jet boat insurance in Ontario, specifically for Sea-Doo Jet Boats. My 2007 Islandia is now being required by the ins. co. to have a marine survey done, which I have had quoted as high as $1500, I find this a ridiculous ask. What are others seeing?

Mine‘s a Yamaha, but I’ve never been asked for a survey. Changed my coverage to Desjardins last year.

A little over $460/yr for a 2017 246ssi Chaparral, through USAA, which uses Progressive.

Update: I have a quote now from Northstar Insurance for $650 CAD for an agreed value policy to cover $43K in a total loss and I am very happy with that. Big upgrade in coverage from Elco/April Marine my previous insurer. They will ask for a survey when the boat hits 20 years old, so I'm good for a few years now.
