I'm going to be installing some rgb led strips in the boat Friday. They come with sticky surface on the backside of them already but I'm gonna use some type of adhesive for extra insurance. Any suggestions? I'm looking for something that could be easily removed later on down the road.

I completed the same a few weeks ago. Like others, I used superglue (gorilla gel) in a few places (especially near the wire leads which put bending pressure on the strips). It still pulled off when needed (one of my solder joints failed) and can be scraped and removed with solvent if necessary. Now that they are installed and working, I see no need to worry about making it a temporary install. The 3m was not working well on its own.

@colt45 ... just finished my install last weekend and did not use any extra adhesive. I did, however, make sure I cleaned the fiberglass with some Isopropyl Alcohol. If you do this step before adhering those strips you should not have any problems. Talked with someone else who used the same strips as I did and his has been on for 2 years now showing no signs of coming loose. In either case, whether you choose to use another adhesive or not, you will need to make sure and wipe that area down. Hope this helps.

3m body molding tape. It holds strong to every surface and if you ever need to remove it comes off clean
