I have a 223 VR since April this year.After 10 hours a problem with one off the O2 sensors came up.The dealer found out the sensor is not working. Now is November and they haven't a new sensor yet. They tell me Chaparral have a problem
to get one from Rotax. Has anyone had the same issue? I still drive the boat and I likes it very much.

I have 38 hours on my engines, 200's and have 3 O2 sensor warnings going off. Taking it to a dealer Monday for repairs. They think there's a exhaust system leak that caused the sensors to fail and they will have to have it a few weeks to order new assemblies direct from brp.

We shall see.... when I spoke to chap, they were not at all surprised to hear, and it's apparently common....

These O2 sensor failures seem to the biggest issue with Chap jets. @Bryan mazanec it would be very useful to get the details of your repair. Generallly I have thought tbat it would be better to get the automotive version of the sensor and replace it rather than waiting on a dealer and slow parts system but if something is causing the sensor to fail then a larger set of parts would be needed.

I sure will let you know the outcome. Hoping it won't be gone all November but we shall see.

Just wanted to give an update. The boats been at the dealers two weeks now and they just called to let me know that water has gotten into the exhaust system, which is what triggered the o2 sensor warnings. Appears that they are calling BRP today to see how to fix the issue but they assume that I'll need all new exhaust assemblies.

Replaced the exhaust assemblies on the boat. Should have it back this Friday and can't wait to be on it this weekend!!

Had my O2 sensors replaced. Covered under warranty. I'll say it, too...it seems to be a recurring problem. Maybe fixed in 2017?

I believe it was just the sensors. I would have to go back and look at the repair order to be sure.

Okay, they had to do my entire assembly. They are all black now as opposed to the aluminum look, and now aren't a 1/4" too short for that space which is what caused the exhaust leak and water exposure.

Well, my boat is back in the shop! Same error codes pointing to the o2 sensors. The entire assembly was replaced (both engines) in November and here we go again. So disappointed

Update from my dealer. It appears chap is telling the dealer that I once again need two new exhaust assemblies. The originals were replaced in November and now again 9 months later. Can we say lemon??

It sounds more like that's not really the underlying problem, if they are replacing it so quickly. Good Luck and hang in there! If you want to try something else, there are some rumblings of the CAN-DOO computer interface device being available for your engine and boat, so you could do some troubleshooting if you were so inclined.

This is the second time in 9 months that I've had to pull the boat for weeks at a time when they should have corrected it with the newly replaced exhaust system.
