JetBoaters.net Bimini Fling July 10th to 15th 2017

My crew and I have never felt we needed fresh water for wash down while out on the water but that is just us. However, I have plenty of times done what @Speedling mentioned, bring a bucket of water from the condo to wipe down the boat when the salt builds up. Typically you will get one or two rain showers while there and that does the best job of washing off the salt.

I am thinking more about rinsing down my kids than the boat

Not sure if this makes me happy or sad. But either way time is ticking

I wouldn't add a fresh water system to your boat just for this trip. Instead if you think you need fresh water, bring 1 or 2 jugs for water to rinse the kiddos. These can be refilled each night at the condo.

I have a fresh water system on my new boat and we might have used it a couple of times during last years Exuma trip. The only reason we used it was because it was there.

Makes sense. I will just get the jugs.

My alternative perspective is that when my family was first introduced to salt water they were always concerned with washing the salt off. Having a shower on board allowed us to stay on the water longer. I added a 16 gallon storage tank, pump, vent and shower head. It works well but a smaller system would have worked just as well.

If I was going to use a 5 gallon jug I would consider adding a pump, vent and shower head to the tank.

It was Father's Day at my kids daycare. Notice My kids perception of where daddy likes to go.

@Emma was saying that Hana is like a younger version of her. They had a great time together.

There is some good news on progress at Bimini Sands.

Starting this weekend all slip reservations will be handled by the same staff that have taken our condo reservations. I will be in touch with them to see if we need to do anything more. My expectation is that they will assign slips before we leave the US>

Tonya Brown whose family is well established in Bimini has signed a lease to operate the ship store. It is rumored that conch and lobster salad will be available at the ship store.

The Ferguson family will operate the Petite Conch (cafe at Bimini Sands) and the infinity pool snack bar.

These facilities are expected to be fully operational before our trip.

All slip reservations will go thru the u.s. office marci@thebiminisands.com 888-588-2464. Congrats to Tonya Brown who will operate the ship store. Congrats to phylicia Ferguson will operate petite conch and infiniti pool snack bar. Expected soft opening on all April 14 with grand openings by May 1. "We currently operate a successful Food and Beverage delivery service in Freeport, Grand Bahama. We both have years of experience in the food and beverage industry having worked as Managers at the Jolly Roger in Abaco Bahamas." They will really be elevating service at the Petite conch with expanded service to include tables, chairs and umbrellas around the small pool. It has been a long road, but we are getting there! Next up, getting 5 tornaments on the books, family fun tournament in June, 2 wahoo tournaments, bill fish and dolphin/tuna."

I have reached out to both the Brown and Ferguson families to see what more that we can learn about their plans.
