Questions
I had the boat out today for the first and still going through the recommended break in. So far I'm about 60 minutes into the 90 minute break in due to rain. Anyways my 1st question I have the new style clean out plug which had about 8 inches of water above the handle when I took it out after the trip. Is this common? My other question is how are people mounting their fire extinguishers?
I had water on top of my clean out plugs also. It must be from the wave that hits when you stop. I was just looking for a good place to mount the fire extinguisher yesterday. I might glue the bracket just inside the door to the left. Let me know if you find a better spot.

The stock bow roller is a hard plastic that can be really hard on the fiberglass gel coat, so a number of people have swapped out the stock roller for a Stoltz roller which is much easier on the gel coat. They run just under $30 +shipping, I just installed mine yesterday.

How does yours fit, Davis? I have seen some people saying they didn't exactly get the fit that they wanted with the regular standard Stoltz and they were ordering the middle piece and ends separately and it looked like a better fit. Are you happy with just the standard three inch? Can you provide any pictures? I definitely plan to show up with my new roller in hand when I pick up the boat so I can swap it right after the initial launch, just still a bit undecided on whether to just buy the 3" or get it in separate pieces for a perfect fit..

The newer 3.5" roller from Stoltz is supposed to be for Shorelander trailers. However the stock plastic roller measures wider at 3.6" so there will be a little gap in between the metal ears. The profile is also different than the 4" Ultimate. Either roller would work fine on these boats. I did like most and just bought the 4" Ultimate. I trimmed the ends of the roller for a perfect 3.6" fit. A little more info earlier in the thread

I actually went with the 4 inch recommended by Malibu Dan. I used a scissor car jack with a towel on each side to bend it a little bit so the 4 inch would work. I just dropped my boat as my storage space yesterday but will try to post some pics soon.

So I have a 3.5" roller on the way to the house because I didnt want to have to cut anything, was planning on just putting washers on either side of the roller to make up for the 1/8th" gap @haknslash was talking about earlier in the thread. I'll post some pics in a couple weeks when I accept delivery of the ol' girl.

You don't have to put washers but it would take care of the gap and ensure the bow roller doesn't have a little slop. It is only going to be 1/16" on either side or 1/8" total movement. I would just ensure it can still roll once you put everything together and you'll be good to go. Congrats and waiting on the boat is the hardest part lol

Water on top of the clean out plug is normal as waves wash up on the back platform and water gets in the hatch.

Question: So I have had my 2017 AR195 out twice and each time the boat has died when reversing off the trailer. I start the motor and let it run for a minute then have my wife back down further so the boat will lift off the trailer and shift the boat into reverse. Each time it dies unless I really gas it in reverse. Anyone else experience the same issue?

My experience with both this Yami and past boats was I would let them idle/warm up at least a few minutes before engaging. I guess I have been so paranoid of it dying around the launch surrounded by other boats.. if I have the time and no pressure to get my trailer out of the way I will let it idle for awhile... if heavy launch traffic I will let it idle and pull it off the trailer with mooring rope to the dock and tie off letting it idle more... especially with how cool it has been here lately...

Okay thank you, it just sounds like I need to let it warm up more if your not experiencing a similar issue. #warmweatherboaterproblem.

This doesn't sound like normal behaviour. If it was happening consistently I would get it checked out. These are computer controlled fuel injected engines. They shouldn't stall out by simply bringing down the reverse bucket.

I am still new the launching process and it just seems easier to me to pull it off the trailer with a rope and drag it over to the dock than trying to climb inside while it is half in the water. Do you get in and have your wife back it down the ramp with you in the boat? My wife is not comfortable wither driving the boa to the dock or backing the trailer up so I just do it all my self right now but maybe in the near future...

My wife only has one direction, forward. I back the trailer and the boat in then climb in the bow. She lets me go after I start the engines and the ramp is clear, then parks the truck and I pick her up. The process goes just as fast as the guys around us.

Are you sure it isn't the cleanout plug, safety switch that needs adjusting? When reversing, it may cause water to hit the hatch. Just another idea or otherwise, you may need to turn up your idle slightly but I would only do that after comparing the idle RPM to the service manual specs

So which size is this one? Seems to fit fine. Just moved my boat and I bet the dealer had in it and out of the water twice and it already has a mark on it from the roller.

I back the boat down the just far enough so the boat trailer tongue is not in the water. Then I hop out to release the winch and safety chain. I hop in the boat, start it and let it warm up then signal my wife to back down a few more feet so the boat lifts up and drive it off. Then my wife parks and mets me at the dock.

I really liked the blue color scheme on the AR190 but they didn't offer the blue on the AR195. So I had a wrap done and could not be any happier with it. The blue also has some flake in it that really brings out the blue when the sun hits it.
Mind if I ask how much the wrap cost?
