We have a soft sand bottoms and I regularly back into beaches. I anchor the front and then use 2 screw in dog stakes for the rear, $7 on Amazon. Keeps the fins clear of beach bottom. If its close ill dig out the sand near the fins.

@OCMD that video is great. Love me some air shows!

I also loved the boat commentary lol.

Captain: "Look at the dolphins!"

Passenger: "Where?"......."OMG!"

[dolphins continue to swim towards boat while boat is navigating the pass to ocean and approaching rougher seas]

Captain: "I hope they get away from me"

Passenger: "Holy sh........WHY ARE YOU DRIVING OVER THEM?!!???"

Captain: "I have to." (As he continues to navigate the waves)....."Watch out!"

[Passenger turns around to film the dolphins they just passed.]

Captain: "What are you doing?"

Passenger: "I'm filming the dolphins."

Captain: "Turn around! I want the waves!"

:D:D

Reminds me of the first time I took mine out in the pass on a windy rough day. It was white capping and big swells but we managed to not take one over the bow. I moved everyone to the back when the rough got going. I was surprised at how capable my 19' was in what felt like a washing machine.

It's all about the rotational speed......
Of course you right. That said, at speed those little pieces of aluminum enable big influence when tilted.
When skiing/boarding - the stern is more planted with the Ultimates.

At the end of the day I think it really depends how you plan on using your boat or where you use it. I have the thrust vector as I like the spring load function as I spend a lot of my time out on the river next to the sand bars. However if I only boated in deep water and did not plan to pull up to sand bars I would probably go with the cobra's.
Interesting ,perhaps you should have looked at the Ultimate system for your boat, it is adjustable with numerous settings for full time steering plus spring loaded flip up at speed capability if you like that option and you can get the fangs to upgrade with if you choose to add in some power steering and improved reverse control, so like I always say do your homework and buy your last steering system first.

I like both products, at the time of purchase I'm not sure I had come across your product, matter of fact I'm not sure I had even found this forum.

I just wanted to reinforce to the forum readers how great Jeff's been. He reached out to me almost immediately and the new VIPER product built specifically for 19 foot single motors will be delivered to me today. There are separate threads on this forum talking about this product from test phase and forward. Looks to be fantastic, and it' s going on after the first sea trial this coming weekend weather permitting. I want to see the difference between before and after. It's still pretty cold up here....few boats on the water so I'm going to play around. :)
