Hello all Glastron Captains. I have a questions pertaining to the chech engine. I own a 2015 Glastron GT187 with the 1.5 liter Rotax. The check engine message came on last year and the dealer replaced an 02 sensor and the issue was remedied. After 70 hours of boating and dealer service during this time, the check engine light came on again. Has anyone else had trouble with this issue and what about 02 sensor going often?

Hi Terrance, I'm guessing you bought yours about the same time, and probably from the same place as I got mine. (IW Marine?)

I got mine at the 2016 boat show, it's the same GT187, 1.5L Rotax.

I have an occasional check engine light, it's not on solid, only comes in now and then, no visible impact on how it runs.

What part of NS are you hiding in?

Hey Navy Shooter. Thanks for the reply. My engine light stays on all the time. Only when I press one of the two rubber buttons does it go out for a few minutes and then returns. We run our boat, mainly on Porters Lake where we live.
How about yourself? Cheers

Hi Terrance,

Mine comes on now and then, then clears when I hit one of the buttons too. In an hour of running, it might come on 4-5 times maybe?

Our boat has about 25 hours on it now (last summer we were too busy with everything but boating, so we didn't spend much time on the lake.)

We're up on Third Lake, Windsor Junction area. I had the boat out in Halifax Harbour earlier in the season for a couple of rides. Good fun.

If you're interested, there's a USN Carrier coming in this week....neat to see something that big in the harbour!

Just speaking with my motor guy (Ricks Powersports) and his suggestion is to keep an eye on battery voltage. He thinks that might be what's happening with mine. My meter is showing about 13.6V or so, and he said it should be up over 14. Battery might be the problem, or a voltage regulator problem.

I'll do a dynamic check out on the lake tomorrow with it....see what it's actually reading at the terminals when the motor's running with my multi-meter.

Thanks for the reply Brad. Last year I did notice the voltage was very high one day. It went back to normal later.

you should be able to read the check engine code in the menu on the right gauge its in one of the sub menus

After taking the GT 187 to our dealer, Iron Wind Marine, they found that the meter itself was the problem and not a sensor. There was no check engine code in the diagnostic code reader Kyle...thanks however for the suggestion.

Ok their is gas where the spark plugs are more then norm what could be the issue ?

Try resetting your kill switch. I've heard mention that sometimes that's a problem for people!

The kill switch is located about four or five inches in front of the throttle, on the side of the boat, not on the dash.
There is a small knob about a half inch long. There should be a little plastic clip (lanyard). attached to it. Normally a red string is tied the the lanyard clip. It’s meant to be pulled off is the driver has fallen away from the boat controls.

How much gas should their be where the spark plugs go?
