Hello I have 38 hours on the twins. Is it to soon to have the 50 hour service done? Also, what's your dealers charging?

Thanks, Mike

I did mine after the first full season (I bought toward the end of the season, so I did the 10 hr service after that). I was probably at 30ish. So that is not too early.

My dealer was like $450-500 for the service. After paying that on the first service, I bought some marine grease, an oil sucker, plugs, filter and some oil. Had it done all myself in probably an hour total time. Too easy to ever pay that much to someone else again.

Thanks you guys are great!

So at 38 hours is not to early for the 50 hour service. I did drop my 2015 242ls at the dealer on the way to the airport. They said they would run diagnostics and pick up any warranty work. I have the 5 year warranty and want to ensure I can use it. I'm thinking of selling her so having the dealer perform the work will have more street cred then if I do it.

I will let you know the billing when I pick her up.

Thanks!!!!

A couple quick questions. Have 2015 242 LS

1. Looking at the maintenance schedule, I'm approaching 50 hours (currently 45), and it looks like I need to replace my oil per the schedule. I had replaced the oil and oil filter last September during my winterization process and 10 hour service. If I change the oil now, should I change the filter as well? And do I need to change oil again then before winterizing at the end of the season?

2. I am wanting to get a bigger anchor. Would like to get one that actually fits in the holder in the anchor storage. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

If you change oil, change filter, period. Personally I would wait to change oil at the end of the season, unless you expect to put a lot of hours (50+) before winter.

I figured I probably would end up changing the filter as well as I have just bought the yamalube oil change kits for convenience.

Haha, summer is shorter here but I won't probably put her to bed till mid to late September as we can get some nice Indian summers. I have only missed one weekend since Memorial Day and the hours are adding up fast. Spent a week on a very large lake (Priest lake) and pretty close to doubled my amount of hours on the boat in that week (24-45). Just don't want to screw up any warranty issues.
