I have a 2017 yamaha 242 limited and we are buying a house down at the Jersey shore with a dock. What has been everyone’s experience with using these drive on floating docks? How bad do they scratch up the boat bottom? How hard is it to dock and undock? Can it be down solo? Would you recommend them? I also like the Sunstream float lift as well. But feel like when floating the pontoons seem in the way for people boarding and unboardiny. I also wonder about longevity with moving parts and salt water. Last option is the traditional 4 post lift. I would love to hear some advise from everyone out there on what they use and how they like it.

I have a traditional lift from boatliftus that does the trick for my 242LS. I have looked at the http://www.jetdock.com brand for jet skis and have been impressed with the product. There a few threads stared and posts regarding drive-on docks for our boats ... search on “Jetdock”

@Water Girl just got rid of one of those drive on dock systems. Maybe she can provide some insight.

I will be using the Ez-dock bp5001 boat port next spring and can provide some feedback after I use it a bit. It's a nice drive on dock system which has some rollers that will make contact with my keelshield when driving up on to it. I'm more concerned about how easy it will be to get the boat off. We'll see.

I was looking at those as well. JetDock was super expensive at $17500 what did they quote you for ezdock?

I can tell you about the 4 pole system. It's reliable and simple, and if the poles are already in, it's very economical. Hardware costs less than $1000 if you know where to shop. I would consider professional install fully worth it if the price is right. Not an easy job to mount and set up the large tubing, and everything needs to be square to work well.

The drawback is difficulty working on the pumps (must jump on the water or floating platform) and difficulty reaching the boats drain plug.

Very fast and convenient otherwise. Low maintenance. Just a few grease points.

The initial quote was around 11k, but after some negotiation, I decided to go with some used components, I got it down under 9k. I got a quote from jetdock too and it was around 10 or 11k if I recall.
