I've been looking to purchase an AR192 and I have 2 options. I'm looking for advice on which would be a better deal:

Option 1
2013 AR192
70 hours
Red/White boat with Black trailer
No cover is included
Interior is in good shape. Only problem is one broken handle on the swim step which is easily replaced. This is local to me and being sold by a Yamaha dealership. On this boat, I have piece of mind of going to see exactly what I'm buying and I could have it home in an hour. I would also have some recourse in case there's an issue with the boat since it's being sold by a dealership. Total cost out the door would be $23,611

Option 2
2015 AR192
36.5 hours
Black/white boat with galvanized trailer
Since this is 2200 miles away, I can only go by the pictures but the interior looks like it's in good shape. This is being sold private party but the seller has good ratings. I'm a little bit sketchy on buying something without being able to personally see it first so I put a thread in the general forum to see if there's any members local to Pittsburgh that would be willing to go take a look at it for me. This boat comes with the original white shipping cover. I would have to have it brought to me using Uship so I'd have to keep my fingers crossed that the trailer would be safe for a 2200 mile trip. Total cost out the door would be $23,300.

Do your homework as the 195 is a huge upgrade from the 192. There will not be many 195 used but there is a reason for that and they are newer. Wouldn’t worry too much about getting a Test ride in a 192 before buying since they are new and reliable. Most are probably just selling to get a bigger or more powerful (eg 195) boat.

I agree with not being able to find a used 195. I looked at the new ones at the dealership and it was $42,500 out the door which is well beyond my budget. Trying to figure out which of these 2 would be the better/safer deal.

I like the newer towers of the 2015's. Wish it were cost effective to switch towers

Is either boat still under warranty? The 2015 is obviously the better deal if it's in good shape but I imagine costs to get it back to you will add $1500 to the price but I still feel it's the better deal even with that said

I included the Uship cost into what I posted above. My bigger concern was if it's a good idea to tow it 2200 miles over 3 days. Right now I have a Seadoo Speedster and blew a trailer bearing after about 300 miles I found someone on this forum that might be able to physically look at the boat for me before I would send the seller payment. That would certainly help my decision.

I could be wrong but I don't think the new tower started until 2016. Both of these have the same tower.

Would it be crazy to suggest you fly over to look at the 2015 first hand? Seems like pennies compared to your risk

Newer towers began with the 2016's on the 19' boats. Same year they started getting the rudder/keel too

I'm trying to work it out where I can fly out to go see it. I'm not concerned about the price of the flight but the difficulty is my work schedule. I'm talking to the seller of the 2016 on the phone tomorrow so I'll get a better idea of my comfort level buying long distance. My biggest concern is having the trailer towed 2200 miles or if it would be smarter to buy the 2013 from a local dealer.

I'd go with the local 2013. That's pretty low hours and a good price in my opinion. I've got a 2014 and boat in the great white north and have about 120 hours on my motor. The only differences I can think of between those models other than color would be that they added a combing cushion on the front of the bow, and I think maybe Seadek on the platform instead of Hydroturf.

Any chance you have links to ads for these Boats?

I have the link for the 2013 but not for the 2015. Here's the 2013 which is local. I was actually a bit incorrect on the pricing I quoted above. Out the door price for the 2013 is $24,214 and this is through a dealership. The total price for the 2015 is $23,300 and that includes the cost of Uship delivering it from PA to NV.

If your using Uship you can make it a requirement that the trailer is towed on a flat bed or flat bed trailer. I did this with my old boat many years ago. I was getting a boat towed from Ohio to South Carolina but the problem was it was my Grandfathers boat that had been sitting on a trailer in his garage for almost 10 years everything looked to be in great shape but I didn't trust the trailer after sitting that long it was a 20 ft boat probably almost 26 ft in the trailer and it was towed down on a flat bed trailer just a thought through Uship.

I looked at having the boat and trailer towed on a trailer a few years ago and it was prohibitively expensive. A lot of more challenging logistics, like way fewer servicers, getting the boat/trailer combo on and off the trailer, width of the carrying trailer, etc.

I do remember it wasn't the cheapest quote I got on Uship but it was the one I was most comfortable with I think it was only $100 more then the quotes I was getting for it to be towed on its own. The shipper dropped it off at my house he was able to load and unload it from his trailer on his own.

Well, I spoke to the seller on the phone this morning. It looks like I'm going to go with the 2015. Just booked a redeye flight to personally see the boat tomorrow. All goes well and I'll have my boat at my house on Saturday. Keeping my fingers crossed. Thank you all for your help. I'm sure you'll be seeing my posts in other areas of the forum saying "how do I......." Greatly appreciate all the feedback.

It was a painful trip but well worth it. I ended up purchasing the 2015 on Tuesday morning. I'm glad I decided to go because when I inspected the boat in person, one of the seats had some stains that weren't in the pictures. He agreed to take $500 off and I'll eventually get it reupholstered. After we finished the paperwork, I meet the driver from Uship and he picked it up. He just delivered the boat to me on Saturday morning and after spending about 5 hours cleaning, it looks amazing and I couldn't be happier. So long story short, the boat was $21,000 and Uship was $1750. Below is a link to the boat.

Beautiful boat, congrats!!!

Now you only need the SVHO intercooler upgrade and Cobra Vipers (or Ultimates w/fangs), and you are all set! Each will set you back about $150. That's what I would do, anyway.

I wish those were the only upgrades! Window tint, 2nd battery and Perko, tower speakers, spare for the trailer, the list goes on.....

I'm following that Green Hulk thread looking fore the intercooler. No luck yet.

If the trailer doesn't have it already, get a Stoltz bow roller to replace the stock plastic one. It will keep the gelcoat from getting scratched. Looks like it has some mods already so chance are he may have already upgrade the roller. It's usually one of the first mods we do.
