Is $40K out the door a good deal for an 2017 AR210 with 30 hrs on it?

Doesn't seem like it on the surface. You should be able to get a 2018 for pretty close to that.

The 2018 show 40-42 but then you add prep fee of $2,900 and tax and it’s like $47-$48k.

If you are in a hot market then you may be stuck, but I wouldn't call that a good deal. The dealer may not budge if people are paying that, but those are high prices. You are at full MSRP, plus 2900 prep fee, plus taxes. That's the most they can charge and get away with it. Like I said your market demand may dictate that, but it's not a good deal. I would shop around.

Just cant get them to discount the 212 Limited S that I want badly here in Missouri !! $ 54,000 out the door + the damn taxes on top of that !!! Is it common that these dealers dont discount these ANY ? I would never buy a $ 50,000 car at sticker , so why its soooooo hard to pay sticker for a boat ! I am so worried about going down to the twin TR-1 in the AR210 . I just think it would be underpowered . Its not necessarily all the other stuff that I would be missing by going AR210 ......... I just want those damn

I agree. When we were looking for our next boat I really liked the AR210 but twin 110hp was going to be a letdown. That's why we chose the 240. The 240 is nearly the same price as the 212...

Yes, because I just cant get over having to pay list / MSRP price on these things ! But , man , the new ones seem to have so many more advances on the concept - beautiful wake tower , articulating keel , 7" Connext screen etc etc . Wonder if they can put the newer , forward leaning tower on an older 21 footer ?

I am sure they can, but it's probably pretty pricey. The 21' prices jumped up like crazy. I just don't see much value on them. If you can afford a 212 why not just go with a 24' boat, and if you are on a budget used will get you more bang for the buck.
