Long story short. I have a scarab 165g it went in last Sept for service work. They did not get to it in time before the freeze so they winterized , wrapped it and stored it for me. They got to it a week ago and got everything fixed. I picked it up a couple days ago and now have a giant icicle coming out of the exhaust. I am guessing they forgot to blow out the exhaust after working on it. How much damage am I looking at? or not a big deal with it just being the exhaust?

Yes it is recommended to blow the exhaust system by slightly revving the engine, but it shouldn't be an issue as the muffler has enough expension to compensate for ice.
I suggest you don't start it before the ice has melted away ;-)

Inspect the mufflers to ensure they're not deformed. Pay special attention to the hoses entering and exiting to see if they're damaged at all. After you put it in the water, run it for a bit while tied to the dock to see if any water is leaking into the hull. Odds are, they're not damaged. People have reportedly been told by people at the Yamaha factory that they simply blow the water out the exhaust during the winter months and they supposedly haven't had any issues. I imagine your Rotax engines are the same way.

Well the stealership told me they would take care of it if anything is wrong. Buying a boat from them has been a horrible experience all around.

Remember the water box " muffler" has baffles inside it, if it had so much water that it expanded enough to go out the exhaust port there is a good possibility that the baffles could have been damaged and you will need a new muffler , I would be concerned as excessive blockage in that water box from any damage can burn your exhaust valves. Just a heads up.

Tore into it today looks like minimal water was in it. Should be good, going to wait for a week or so so temps can warm it up and fire it up.
