. I got the rod holder from eBay. Get the right size for your tower. It fits secure but wouldn't trust it in choppy water.
Installed my rod holder today while I had everything open due to a stock scupper replacement with Atwood stainless steel.
@bobbyc what is this articulating mount you speak of? Love your setup! I also have the Kuuma and love the shelf attachment. I'm going to have to look at that.
the older generations had the floor mount on the lower deck. on my AR230, that wood was pressure treated plywood and held up well, even though the wood wasn't sealed where the hole was drilled at the factory. another option is the vertical-surface mounts Yamaha switched to (google "Garelick side mount" for an example) - but make sure the area is strong enough or reinforce it with a backer-plate.
