Welp! I'm here!

I've been reading up like crazy and shopping for a while now. Been to a few shows and i think the 190 FSH Sport might be the boat for me...

I live in Lakeland (central Florida) so I'll be boating mainly out of tampa Bay area. Probably 80% salt water and the other 20% freshwater lakes...

I'm looking for something that I can jump in and go out fishing in the bay and maybe out about 10 miles on clear days...

The other times that I bring my wife and family will be maybe a little fishing but mainly floating or hitting some same bars and islands around the area. And like I said, jumping for some enjoyable days in the local lakes..

I've looked at every brand out there for 19 foot center consoles and for the price range compared the 190 FSH Sport sends to be the perfect hybrid for family pleasure and fishing.

Sooo, my questions are regarding the jet drive system. My wife loves the safety of not having a prop sticking out when being in the water and i really like the added usable space if the swim deck. Anybody local in my area have testimonial feedback on issues in the bay with them? Nervous about the issues of debris getting in the system and clogging. I've ran plenty of jet skis and never had big problems, obviously cutting the engine before getting to the beach but it's a little different with the boat i would imagine.

Anyways give me the good bad and ugly.

Thanks

We boat out near Anclote Island and the sand bar. We catch so grass everynow and then and got a rope off a crab pot one time but nothing to really ruin a day. Flush them each time with salt away and clean the boat really well and youll love it. I got at Cycle Springs in Clearwater. If you have not found a dealer go in there and ask for Scott. Tell him Jeremy the Army guy with the really loud SX240 sent you. They are the largest dealer around so should be able to get the best deal

Well a rope would wrap up in a prop just the same...

Yes I planned on checking them out if I decide to buy. Barney's of St Pete was set up at the show this weekend and had it priced pretty well at $28K but cycle springs seems to have a good warranty offer with the lifetime deal and I'm sure they'll be competitive in pricing

The guys at the service department are some great guys. I know a few people on here have had an issue but if you go in with an attitude you're very likely to get one in return. Out rope was just a small piece of one so once we got it up on the trailer we aint it right out. The way it works with a lifetime warranty is they do the services and back the motors up for life. It cost a little bit more but well worth it in the end.

Yes I have, but the 210 FSH is about $45K and if I jump to that price point I'll get something like a Key West 219 FS, Grady White, or Robalo center console for $50K...

Besides, saying it might be uncomfortable doesn't mean impossible right? LOL

A few hours of misery for a few days of paradise? Doesn't sound so bad... We work all year for a week vacation so what's a few more hours!

I will be the Debbie Downer here a little or may be saying somethings you already know. If you are looking for a boat you will consistently get 10 miles offshore fishing on and enjoy this is probably not the boat for you it is too small. The 190 FSH is a great boat if you have realistic expectations going in it is a fun 19 ft boat that can be used for fishing or family fun in fairly calm water with ease if you add chop and waves it quickly will not be fun especially for you family. I think they are cool boats and are great for those that fit the bill but I have a feeling with you being a coastal boater you will quickly become disappointed with it. The other boats you mentioned and the 210 FSH would likely fit your wants and needs better. I know the 28k price tag sounds nice but if you buy it and hate it in a year and have to sell it for 20K to buy another boat the 28k original price tag won't sound so hot but if you keep it for 10 years you will feel like you got a steal. Not telling you not to buy it or saying its a bad boat but it is what it is and as long as you go in with that expectation you will be fine but just still think you may find it lacking for what you are probably looking for.

Well obviously I'm not going to be out in heavy weather or bad seas, but what can it realistically handle? Does it have to be glass water to run good? I wouldn't imagine going out with more than 1 to 2 foot waves... Obviously things can change without warning, being a jet boat would it leave me limping in if they got 3 to 4 foot? Would they break over the bow and create unsafe condition taking on water?

I'm realistic in the ability and not going to go 50 miles out. I don't want to deal with a 22 to 24 foot boat trailering 1.5 hours one way every time I go out and that would be too big to be able to have lake use with as well. The 190 seems to be a good mix for fish and family and also big enough to take out in the bay and also drop in the lakes.

21 would be a better bet. Not much bigger than the 19 but you get the twin engines. Huge plus if something where to happen 10 miles out.
