Has anyone had any trouble with their ballast bag fitting tearing loose from the bag?
My center bag had the fitting pointing down and I quess with pressure from the water weight it broke the fitting loose from the bag. I’m gonna check my other bags to see if they are positioned with the fitting pointing down. That’s not gonna work so I guess I’m gonna have to roll the bag somewhat in it’s side to get the pressure off of the fitting? Do y’all think Yamaha warranty will replace my bag? Bought new July 16

Yes! Happened to me last year. Same bag, and the fitting broke. Dealer fixed it under warranty. Was easy and quick. Apparently the hose was not routed correctly which caused the failure.

mine did that, there is an inline valve, way down in the engine compartment. Needs to be turned parallel to open position. Supposed to get done in dealer prep...
But service dept couldn’t tell me I learned it here.

We have checked that. That was the first thing the dealer asked

Where in the engine compartment is that inline valve? I'm not sure I follow "turned parallel to open position". Thanks for the insight as we haven't fired up the ballasts on our new boat.

It will tell you on the screen if the valve isn't open. Looking at open engine it's on the far left hand side.

Ours is broken again 😢 Yamaha had a known issue with the motors corroding. Waiting for next service to decide what we are gonna do 😭

Does boating in salt water require an special maintenance to the ballast pumps and ballast bags? @Julian

We haven't had any issues with our pumps in 3 different ballast setups.

Don't know we've never got to actually use ours. The dealer did set up we tried didn't work. New motors we didn't want to try in salt, headed to lake couldn't get it to work. Gave in tried on salt didn't work. Going back again to have new motors or lemon law and new boat

I've never used them in salt water! When I go to Bimini I shut off the seacock to the ballast!
