@Mainah may have an idea, but my guess is that you have a bad connection to the "joystick" control or Connext screen. I'd go behind the helm and track the wires to it and find all the plugs, pull them apart, look for moisture and pins that might be too short and then firmly plug them back together. If it isn't behind the helm, I'd do the same check at the SCU under the starboard side cabin seat.

(Your profile says you have a 2015 AR240)

I think 2018 242x have done away with all mechnical buttons and now have a canbus connected keypad as well as the joystick. All wiring harness connections behind the helm would be my first check. Also do NOT pull power from any of the canbus circuits for something else this can cause issues as those things designed to be on the network also need power. These boats are getting more complicated and soon enough it may be worthwhile for me to open a part time boat electronics diagnostic business the way things are headed.

Dealer didn’t prep mine right. Turned out to be part of dealer prep.

Hello,
We received the same message today on our 2018 242 limited S. Brand new boat, only our second trip out. We could not get it to go away with turning off batteries and turning back on. We proceeded to start and drive the boat anyway. A short time later after driving a bit we shut down the engines to put in a tube and tow rope in the water. When we started back up message was gone? We spent a good 3-4 hours out on the lake and it never returned. Did you happen to learn the cause of the error?

Hello, please let us know what the prep step was that was missed... I have the same error occassinally on my boat (same year). I always reboot the boat - power down batteries (both) and power up, and most of the time it stops. I also have my key in the ON position all the time. I need to try it with the key in off, then power up batteries... Not sure.
