I installed thrust vectors and lateral thrusters on my 2016 AR192. In the process the rudder bushings were torn up. I ordered the bushings through my local Yamaha service center, howerever I was notified there is a current nation wide back order on those specific parts. They are not expected to be available until 9/26. I ordered the bushings from babbits as well only to find out they are not able to ship the part as well due to the back order from supplier. Any suggestions with alternative fix or where to order from? Please advise

If you could have someone give you the dimensions, you could have the parts 3d printed in a couple hours.

Bushings expected 8/20, thanks again for advice. I would hate to have to waited a whole month. Already this summer, boat had been out for warranty repair for two months.

I called partzilla only to find out they will not be able to ship bushings till 9/20. Just disappointed! First engine failure boat out of commission for 2 months, now will be out for additional month for $12.00 in parts. Note to self, do upgrades at end of boating season. Lesson learned!

Have you considered a local bearing shop? I bet there is a generic part, on part of a generic part, that can accomplish the needed duties before the part arrives.

Don't give up. Worst case, I bet even a machine shop could help.

Best of luck

thanks, at this point I will try a fabrication shop for off road vehicles, they make parts from scratch on occasion. I appreciate the suggestions.

Damn it! That sucks, I hate being misinformed by lazy people that don't do their jobs, I know you talked to them and they still let you down! Good luck with the parts fabrication shop I'm sure they can hook you up at least temporarily, they may even produce a better product!

Went ahead and installed original bushings. Although not in the best condition, 9/20 is too long to be out of water. When parts do come in I will wait till end of season to replace.

had 8-9 mph wind with a little side current. Thrust vectors worked great pulling into slip.
That's a great looking boat and we love the slip!

Update regarding rudder bushings:
Babbits shipped out 3 of the 4 bushings I ordered. Gave them a call. They will ship 4th bushing along with snap ring I ordered as well. The snap ring is on back order too.
Meanwhile back at the Yamaha service center:
Received call that rudder bushings have arrived.
Have not heard from partzilla yet.
Synopsis: boat is in water with original rudder bushings. At this point, I will swap out snap ring and bushings at the end of the season. The snap ring is expected to be in stock 9/20. So from what I have been told, not to reuse original snap ring when replacing bushings or risk losing hinge pin and rudder due to metal fatigue of ring being expanded and re-expanded over hinge pin. Is this common for all boat brands having parts on back order? I realize these parts are specific to Yamaha design. But for a boat to be less than 5 yrs and not have replacement parts on hand. I could understand having older boat that parts become harder to find or is it the opposite?

I have received the last of my order from babbits. I received the snap ring which was included in back order. Just glad I was able to make do with parts that I had. It Would have been a total catastrophe extending the time boat was out this summer. So any future mods will be done in the winter. I am almost due for my 20 hr service. Boat works as it should. Next project will be battery tender install.
