I bought a Garmin 43DV. These are not available anymore...they have an updated version. I like this one because it was not as wide and was easier to find a place to mount. I have a 2016 242 Limited SE. Mounted in the cup holder at the instrument panel. Fit perfectly without having to cut a big hole. Only had to remove the cupholder and cut the bottom portion to make room for the power and the transducer cable. Good luck!

We own a Garmin 44CV that I installed and mounted on my '13 SX190 on the helm to the right of the steering wheel, works great no loss of bottom or depth. Took about 1.5 hrs to install. There are a couple great write ups on the forums here that helped, but is was pretty straight forward.

I have an 2018 SX195 and I went with the Ray Marine Dragon Fly 5 and mounted it on the right side of the dash. I don't have a photo at the moment but I really liked the mount and install. You can easily take the GPS in/out by unscrewing the ball mount so if you store the boat outside like I do you don't have to worry as much about the elements. I ran power and everything right into the helm and wired it underneath.

I didn't use the transducer as I'm not a fisherman by any means and the SX195 came with a depth finder and water temp meter so it was really redundancy at that point. Its an entry level model but very clear screen, very easy to use. I'm still going through the features of setting routes, way points and tracks to my liking but certainly satisfied with my purchase.

I used to use a Garmin eTrex Vista in a Ram mount but I now use an app called i-Boating: Nautical/Marine Maps for my iPhone 7. It is a fantastic app that has saved my bacon numerous times. The basemap for North America is only $19.99 and it is a one time purchase. I tested the contours on the basemap to my readings from my onboard depth sounder and they are within 1' of each other so I trust it. I know that a standalone, hardwired GPS has definite advantages but if you are used to boating with your iPhone, this might be a viable option for you to look into.

Take a tip from the fisherman who swap electronics on a regular basis. Put a RAM mount ball near your location of install. Put another on the mount of chosen electronic. Then with the use of the RAM arm, you can position and re position the electronics as you choose. It's nice to know that you are not stuck with a permanent mount that may have been less than ideal.

It's also nice to know you can swing it so that a c0-pilot can watch it as well, or adjust further for changes in lighting. Or even pull it off the dash in seconds for those less-than-secure docking locations.

Good luck, there are many good options on the market. And many that are on clearance that may be a non-current model. These items drop in price always. So hitting up Cabelas, Gander/overtons, etc and watching the clearance area is worth it.

I have a Garmin 73SV mounted on the dash to the right. It's far right enough to avoid obstructing the gauges. Used 1.5 inch ball Ram mount with short arm

Transducer is bolted to the bottom plate.

Navionics app on my phone works great. I like the maps better than my garmin unit. Of course you dont have real depth but it's super accurate and easy solution at least for now.
