I chucked mine in a lathe and took 1/8" off the middle roller so that it would spin. Up until then it would just drag rubber off of the roller onto the hull.

I switched mine to the Stoltz bow roller but its not spinning. I guess I'm going to have to trim the edges also.

This is my first boat so I'm still learning. I just assumed is called a roller that it should roll. I guess if its not scuffing, that would be the goal.

It should be able to roll (but does not need to "spin" freely), maybe just back off on the bolt if too tight.

Just ordered my RP355 and Rp 434 from Ebay. Separate sellers, total just over $30 shipped free. Thanks for all of the tips on this. Am I going to be able to re-use the existing hardware?

I had to get new hardware from Home Depot.

I am also experiencing some buildup on the hull where the roller is leaving some material. It is not scratching or marring, it is actually leaving some of the roller material on the boat. No biggie, but it does take a little elbow grease to remove it.

I installed a Stoltz bow roller this weekend and it fit well without having to resize, BUT I noticed a manufacture defect on the trailer bracket that needed attention.

When I removed my stock roller I found a small metal "peak" on the inside of the trailer bracket that actually dug into the roller and kept it from spinning. I never noticed the roller didn't spin. I sanded it down flat with a file and installed the stoltz roller - much better!

My stilts bow roller deformed after just one outing And a few weeks on the trailer. I replaced it with a boat buddy ii which may soon be replaced by a ramp n clamp. I stated that because the boat buddy caused me to install a large scuff plate around the bow eye. This keeps the boat buddy and a roller from scuffing the boat. The cost around $25. Just something to consider if your roller is causing scuffing.

I'm looking to upgrade to a stoltz bow stop, but after some reading I'm still not sure what the proper P/N or setup is. I have a 2017 212X with the galvanized trailer. I'd appreciate some feedback as I'm trying to get this installed before I take my boat out of the water for the season next week ; (

What was the reason for needing new hardware? Longer bolt length needed or just different diameter bolt size? Just want to be totally prepared for when I change mine out, I hate last second surprises. Thanks.

Yep I needed a longer bolt. I have the center roller that I used for my AR190 that I documented above that you can have for the price of shipping. The 242 fit better with the regular stoltz roller.

I appreciate the offer but it's to late. Thank you though.
