The event at Falls has been relatively small over the years, but this year is shaping up to be a bigger group. If that is the case, I hope to organize some fun events much like we've done at Shelbyville. Typically we do the following:
Some boats will peel off to do various water sports with groups:
Tubing
Wake boarding
Wake Surfing
Main group will tie up at a sand bar and hang out. Music playing, checking out each others boats and modification
People bring their own food and often are sharing it
At Shelbyville, jello shots often appear LOL
SUP races for all (kids and adults - this will mean someone will need to bring SUPs
Others bring jet skis, kayaks, and other floating items (like a bull rider)
It is basically what we want to make of it. But the primary thing is hanging out with good people on the lake!
Lanier has a lot offer and would be a cool place for a meet up. Just needs someone local to organize. At some point I am going to rent a house for a long weekend on Lanier (not a holiday weekend).
The draw for me to a falls lake gathering is meeting some folks in person and hanging out. There is not any on water lodging that I am aware of. I am a maybe for this year.

No "Lodging" on the lake unless you bring it with you (camper or tent) - there is a LOT of camping available on the lake. Many campers will have their boats moored offshore when they camp.

What does the group think about renting a shelter at the lake for this event.. they right at the edge of the water and are covered with picnic tables and most important.... bathrooms. The some have sandy beaches and girls... and they r cheap to rent for the day....
They are in the same area of the lake.
As of now, shelter 5 is avaliable for all three dates... if we can nail down a day most people can come then I will reserve one... the nice thing about the shelter is if people who are far enough away that they dont want to tow their boat down they can simply drive to the shelter and still hang out with everyone because the water and boats a feet away from the shelter...
thanks for the invite! im currently 7500 miles away, boat in storage and no sure date for going home. i wish i could plan my year out that far. someday hopefully.
