Update from the weekend work. Brought her home again to do some little things. Really wish the weather would break warm. Highly anticipating March 8 for daylight sayings time. That'll start warming it up here in no time.

Anyway...... She looks so cold 😒
20200216_111009.jpg

Put a race car tape mark on steering wheel. Coming from i/o or outboard motors all my life I'm still adapting to the jet life. This tape line will help me see and feel center (jet pointing straight). Should help me with the not knowing. Not that I'm horrible, but not i/o good yet....

20200216_121140.jpg

This pic is for @2kwik4u and anyone else wanting to know. I traced the tube from the passenger helm cup holder. It dumps right out onto floor....
20200216_121328.jpg

Sooooooooo.........
20200216_131132.jpg

Out come the cup holders for some sealing. Did silicone into the holes....

20200216_131525.jpg

Pushed in with shot glass of class...
20200216_131534.jpg
Then added another bead on top....
20200216_131619.jpg
20200216_131710.jpg

Climbed my big non flexible ass behind driver helm to look into the conext map update thingy. I found this....
20200216_123703.jpg

Found the SD card. It's right below the blue plug thingy. Pulled it out, and hoping for an update with better maps...
20200216_123723.jpg

Working with @Compatico to get this updated. Not simple for me so far. Gonna try again tonight. Once I get it I'll do a full write up in a separate thread for anyone in future....
20200216_191400.jpg

So I test fit my new amp rack board instead. Fits gorgeously....
20200216_114812.jpg

She is now 5" off the floor. So after sealing cup holders I'll have zero worries of water touching electronics...
20200216_114819.jpg

😍😍😍😍😍😍......
20200216_144732.jpg

Mounting up Wetsounds distribution blocks. One for power, and one for ground....
20200216_145258.jpg

Drilled holes so all wiring will come up from floor into blocks and amps. It'll look super clean once installed and finished...
20200216_162708.jpg

That's it for this weekend adventures. Next weekend cup holders will go back in, and hopefully start wiring in 😊😊

@Hoyt Thanks for the cupholder picture. Appreciate the legwork there.

Sealing the cupholders is a good move IMO. Only downside is sweat from cold beverages accumulates in them during dry days. On wet days they fill with water. I keep one of these Absorber chamois in the boat, and a single "insertion" will soak up about 95% of the water from a full cupholder

Also, I installed drains from my rear cupholders into the rear cleanout tray. Here's a link to that process. I have a toddler that likes to sit on the rear swim platform and, quite literally, dump buckets of water on his head. He gets a huge kick out of it, and it was ALL draining straight into the bilge before the capping, silicone, and drain line installation. Well worth the time for me!

I agree I think sealing the holders is a great move. Keeping the carpet inside storage areas dry is key. Keeps them from molding and stinking. Not hard at all to pull them out, and seal them.
The 2020 models have a factory drain tube from swim deck holders that drains onto lower swim deck. That would be a pain if it didn't

The only two cup holders that didn’t have a drain on mine were the two in the bow. I just added my own tubing to it and teed it into the drain tube for the cup holders in the cabin. Very simple to do and only a couple bucks of parts. However they would drain past that port side hatch, so @Hoyt elecronics would still be in peril. My use case was keeping water out of the storage compartments where we store life jackets and other personal items.

The rack holds a board up to 3.5" wide. Shouldn't be a problem at all holding the Zup. The Zup only weighs 15 pounds. These racks are solid. I'll be putting a 5'4" Liquid Force board on it soon πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰
Were you able to find a deal on it somewhere or did you just buy direct or ebay? Looks like pricing is pretty even across the board so far.

I bought direct from Reborn. They were like $250 for both shipped. Came quick too. Took about 4 days to arrive

I thought about doing all tubing. Would've been alot though. 10 total cup holders, and would have to run tubing into bilge

Not only that, but then you'll have to find a way to keep all that tubing clean eventually.

That's the second part of the worry for sure

Is it the weekend yet? Hopefully installing this weekend. Finished up the amp rack today with battery cover. Say goodbye to under seat storage, but hello to clean....
20200218_165551.jpg

Left side is raised 1.5" and 1.5" narrower to cover batteries, and clear wall mounted switches. The Noco could get mounted to the top of left side, but I'll probably keep it under for easy removable panel access.

Drilling holes for the wiring is a nice touch - keeps it very neat and clean looking.

Thanks buddy. My old setup was just wires everywhere drove me nuts. This should hide all that. Plus it moves the electronics off floor. Win win

If you really wanted them to drain I wouldn't run tubing all the way to the bilge. Rather I would run short tubes from cup holder to the cockpit floor and then use those white drain caps they use for the swim deck cup holders of the bigger boats. That way the water would simply drain onto the cockpit floor and make its way to the scupper or bilge eventually. You can see the little drain caps I circled in this pic...

I just siliconed the drain holes on the cup holders. Permanently sealing them basically. Just reinstalled in boat today. I'll just use a chamois to get water out after washing boat.

That will work and it's what I do but just letting you and others know there are other ways than having to run tubes to the bilge ;)

Weekend update......

Got the cup holders installed. No need for pics of that. Hoping they work as intended sealed.

Got the amp rack in, and battery cover. Looking super clean now, and no more worries if being floor mounted.
20200223_145057.jpg

20200223_145108.jpg

Battery cover just slides in and out easily. Covers everything in back when you open the seat, but leaves access to Perko switch.
20200223_145112.jpg

Super clean look when seat is opened...
