Well, it’s been fun getting back into boating. The new boat has been a pleasure so far with 10 hours on the clock. Have experienced some Port side motor CEL’s. Still trying to diagnose with Dealers help. Otherwise flawless. Top speed is definitely under whelming, but given the weight and power it’s not to shabby at @43-45mph. 70 gallons of fuel and 6 people. I’m not going to complain... just wish it was as fast as my previous SX230HO.
Otherwise, everything else has been thoroughly enjoyable. Wake boarding and Wake Surfing is a blast behind it.
I recommend the boat in general fits my needs.

:Welcome:
Congrats on the boat.
For the engine issues, check the lockout switches under the swim platform hatch. I found one of mine was a little lower than the other and often I had hard starts with my strb engine. Adjusted it up just 1/8" to make better contact and now it starts 100% of the time.

For top speed, weight in the front affects how it drags in the water - make sure all passengers are in the cockpit and not in the bow, and you'll probably see a speed increase. I have the same engines in my boat, and I can easily hit 50 with several people and a full tank, although mine is a bit shorter and lighter. How's the acceleration with those twins? Toss anyone overboard yet?
:D

Any pictures of the surf wave, and what setup are you running?

Not really any good wave pics. But it’s stock nothing else. No ballast or what not. Enough wave to get my fat ass going fine. Have a wavebooster on order. That should help too.

Sounds like the 250 has a lot of potential, remember to toss the rope in (so you don't some how get caught in it).

Any new surf pics/advice for surfing with AR250 now that you’ve had it for a bit?

You have a really nice boat! The new 250s are really nice, I went from a 19 210 to a 12 242 and at first was dissapointed in the interior room compared to the newer 240s. Spoke to a guy at the dock who had a new 252sd and she was a beauty for sure. I was already in the mindset to make a deposit on a new 250 until he said its heavier and slower. That just broke my heart since I sold a perfectly good 2019 210 for that very reason. If you are looking at this Yamaha corporation guys please know, we want 55mph min! There is no reason a boat should cost what it does and only goes 40. My new 210 would top at 37mph and with a adult on a 60" tube she wouldnt pull more than 18mph!!!

Perhaps you had something wrong. This clearly is not the case. I top out at 44 mph and with 3 people in a 60" tube and 3 on board I can hit 38 mph. And we tube ALOT!

It is very possible, I bought it brand new and even took it in to have that checked but thats all she would do. I did hit 42 once! I also never have less than 6 people on board. This 2012 242 with the twin 1.8s will hit 50 all day with the same amount of people.

I have a 2021 252S...over 4th of July weekend, I had 9 people on board and 3/4 tank of fuel and hit 49 mph. Still had more room to go on the throttle, too.

Funny how it is all over the place. I can only get to about 43mph, but my RPMs stop at 7100, they may need adjustment. To be fair 43mph is fast on the water and 30mph is a good cruising speed.

I was out last week and in decently calm waters I topped out at around 43 with half tank and 6 people on board. RPM's were around 7100 also but feels as if it wants to go faster. No big deal though, except for calm conditions I don't see myself going that fast all the time. Right around 30-32 seems to be a good pace with calm waters.

Thats incredible, I really hope that its just a few people. Problem is on my 210 about 50% said it would get 44 and 50% said 37, mine was the 37mph model apparently and this 12 242 runs faster than others said what theirs would go. I know on the tr1s you can pull the flame restrictor? out of the intake and gain a few more mph, not sure on your model. I expect that I will soon have more in my boat than its worth and will just have to keep it. Sure do like the new 250 hulls though.

I have to say, I am thoroughly happy with my, ehem, "investment"! I will also agree with the above comments about 30-33 mph being the best and most comfortable cruising speed. Only time I open it up is to impress 1st time riders 🙂.
