Agreed. Thanks Julian!

I ordered the upgrade version this morning at a bit cheaper rate here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N76K48A/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=AL09J9CKIG9A&psc=1 For a little more, this version from the same manufacturer promises that it will activate a provided 12vdc relay and turn on the blower for you.

These are available at WestMarine as well if you don't like Amazon, but it's way more expensive there. Also check the sensor after installation and periodically thereafter using just the butane gas from an unlit lighter. Reviews say that the sensors are ocassionally DOA and go bad. The manufacturer reportedly confirmed it. Sensors look very easy to replace though due to a quick connector.

Looks well worth it to me to mitigate risk and potentially automate the process.

I posted that same picture a long time ago. But, you're right! There is always something to spend you're your $$ on. But, when it comes to safety, you cannot disagree with this one! :winkingthumbsup" Every Time, and I mean every time, I start the engine, I think about this. There is no value on "piece of mind". I luv it!!!

I am having an issue wiring this up. On the back of my black box, I have connectors 80 85 86 87 and 87a no idea which one that is for. The below diagram I am following.

I have power coming in off the blower switch power into 30 and 85, I have 86 wired to the yellow ground coming from the control.

is 87 just wired to the yellow wires that are marked blower? off the circuit breakers?

Also I have 87a which is not mentioned.

They also mention another ground in the manual.

2nd picture is the back of my relay that was in the kit.

Any help would be much appreciated, don't want to do this wrong.

Here is the manual.

Yeah I am befuddled since nothing I can find on the web or in their documentation talks about an 87a terminal.

Took me awhile as well but eventually got it. The relay is all about positive wires, nothing to do with negative wire. On the back of your switch you'll see (from top to bottom) Negative, 12v red and then 12v red. The first red is hot. The second (bottom) is not till the switch is activated. With that said, the relay requires 2 hot 12v running to it. That was what got me. Due to twin engines, I have 2 blowers that work off the switch. So, I tapped into each of the hot wires and connected them to 30 and 86. The second wire (that becomes hot when activated) connects to 87. If you have 2 blowers, the other second wire connects to 87a. Yellow wires connects to 85.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you need anything.

A wiring diagram would be awesome....even if just hand drawn and photographed.
Good idea...This is what I did.

Edit: I edited the picture as it was not correct. The 2 bottom red wires must be connected together and then connected to 87. Leave 87a empty.

I'd like to install one, but I don't have a rocker switch. The switch is built into the Connext screen. I'm still waiting for a service manual and hopefully it will have wiring schematics!

So I’m wondering if anyone has installed this system on a boat with the 12” connect screen. My switch is touch screen….I don’t want to spend $500 until I know how its wired. I’ll probably have to do without the blower control.
