Is there one that fits in the Anchor locker of a 210? Is the small good enough? Any help would be great.

#boxanchor

I have a 240 and I also am interested in a suggestion on a box anchor. I am not concerned about storage location, but I do like the foldable type.

Small box anchor works great and fits in 240 anchor locker folded.

i accidentally ordered the next size up. It is larger, so i put it folded in the seat behind the drivers seat when not in use, but one positive is i never have any movement (even though im sure a small would have worked fine)

The difference in the 210 with the MR-1 vs the 230 with the MR-1 HO was noticable in the anchor locker in size. And the both had the same bow shape. So I am concluding, not having compared the newer 210 to the 240, that the lockers would not be the same, and the 210 will be smaller. Someone with experience can comment further.

I have had both of those boats and the lockers are similarly sized due to the shape from the bow ladder. But my 210 was an 08 so a different bow completely from yours. Not sure about the new style 210s. Plus I did not have the box anchor when I had that boat.

Not sure about anyone else, but I'm gonna strap mine down with padding underneath under seat, like I saw on another thread. Ship shape.

I use the extra small 90% of the time. If it's windy, or a bit crowded, I toss out the small.

There have been a few rare occasions where the small wasn't cutting it.
Usually when the wind is so crazy I don't want to be on the damn lake anyways!

Wherever you store it, padding is a must. I used anti fatigue floor squares from lowes cut to pad the locker.

Pic I snapped today, not pretty but functional and extremely stable. Padded locker with two sets of 100 rode, small box, 25 lb richter, anchor buddy....

My small #boxanchor fits in my '09 230 locker while open, it is 12 1/2 inches wide. Just throwing that out there if you want to measure your locker.

That was one of my first purchases when I bought my 240. I highly recommend it.

I have a medium and a small. They both work well. I store them in one of our floor storage compartments.

They don't make a medium. The have the baby, which is rated for a PWC, the small which is rated for our boats, the large which is rated for up to 40' boats, and the extra large. No mediums. From their website...
Box Anchor Sizes
The Box Anchor is designed to work with almost any boat size, from personal watercrafts to houseboats and most everything in between.

Baby Box Anchor: Personal watercraft
Small Box Anchor: Offshore / Sport 18' to 30', cabin cruiser to 24'
Large Box Anchor: Offshore / Sport to 40', cabin cruiser to 32'
X-Large Box Anchor: House boats, cruisers longer than 32'

Hey! I see you have one of the Nite eyes caribiners attached to your set up. I have a couple of those and the best $5 spent. Tying off the bow eye to the shore spike is a breeze with that thing and holds all day.

You kind of run a risk using a carabiner in place of a anchor shackle. That is exactly how I lost my first Slide Box Anchor!!! I used the carbiner to make hookup easy since it didn't fit in my anchor locker. And low and behold, it got caught on the rope somehow and the rope popped it off the anchor....and straight down into Davy Jones locker it went...without the line! Any boating manual, sail or power, would say a shackle is a must on an anchor. But it sure is more convenient with the carabiner.
