Does anyone happen to know the oil drain plug size on the '12 242 LS? I want to replace it with a stop cock so I can run drain lines out of the drain plug to make Changing the oil easier. Thought about this last fall, but with it being a colder than normal winter, my winter mod list made zero progress.

Pumps are an option, but I would rather park on a hill, pull the tubes out through the drain plug, put them into a bucket, open the stop cock and have all the oil drain out, without leaving some oil in the engine.

I have not yet heard of any one doing that. I guess you would have to move to a hill, let out the oil, then move it to level the engines to refill. For my money, I will just suck it out.

I don't know what size it is, but you could spend $2.07 at #partspak for part
95814-08020-00
And measure it.

How do you plan to plug the hose you then have sitting in the bilge? Probably don't want the residual drippings from the hose in there...

Just curious, when did they start putting in oil drain plugs in these boats? I didn't think any of them had oil drain plugs.

I don't know, but I think I found it on the parts breakout diagram. Wouldn't surprise me if they were always there. An engine is an engine at some level. Of course, I think you need to pull the engine to get at it... So it wouldn't surprise me if everyone thought they weren't there. But in the factory, that would be the most efficient way to flush shavings out before initially filling with oil and putting it in the boat, I would think.

You might want to check this out @ISLANDRACING. I've been giving this serious consideration. What I don't know for sure is if this for "one" or a "pair"??? Based on the description is reads singular.

Has anyone seen a pic of it or had a better description? I can not tell from the website what it does, other than slurp more oil using my existing extractor. And that seems like a lot of money. ..
