Need Help With New Used Boat Milky Oil!! Story From Day One

Just for clarification in your profile it says you have a '20 SX190? If not please update is this a '14 SX190 and did you buy from an individual or a broker? As far as the ribbon delete I am not sure I follow, I did one on our '13 SX190 and didn't need any extra parts, it was just removing the...

    Bilge humming?

If by humming you mean attempting to pump water my bilge on the same yr and model does the same thing. I have spoken to the company that produces the bilge and they say it is normal. That the bilge may "detect" water and will attempt to pump it out. I have looked down in the bilge area and...

Dang comm error - comes and goes! (speedo or transducer?)

@osuart Okay most alarms require a preset number of "clean" restarts before they reset and clear. I'm sure one of the folks on here will have the # but I think it is at least 3 clean restarts before the code clears...SO lets keep a positive attitude until then. :winkingthumbsup"

    Black residue on dipstick - 2020 AR190

With only six hours on the engine I would think that the residue is from the engine and parts getting to know one another and some particles from that. The 10 hr service is an oil change and that should take care of most of the residue, I don't believe the maintenance schedule calls for...

Dang comm error - comes and goes! (speedo or transducer?)

I would look at all the connections related to your replacement of the battery. If you had no errors and then they returned after 12 hrs of use, it could be as simple as the battery wires and or connections have loosened enough to get the error to return. Look for any corrossion on the battery...

SX 195 Overheat Alarm and Engine shutoff

Do the oil change on your own and see how that does before doing an "upgrade" that may or may not work. It's easy to spend someone elses money or time to do an upgrade that may not give you what you desire.

SX 195 Overheat Alarm and Engine shutoff

@DeeKranze I am envious that you can run at WOT for that long, on the open Gulf we have run for about 10 mins and the sea state is just too rough at 1 to 2 ft. IMHO I think you will be okay the way you are as long as you get the oil level squared away. Good Luck

SX 195 Overheat Alarm and Engine shutoff

OK @SamCF you mention he should upgrade the intercooler, what intercooler would YOU upgrade to? I have a '18 195 and run it year round at sea level in salt water at water temps at times over 85 degrees and have not experienced "heat soak". If you look at the heat soak thread for the 195's I...

SX 195 Overheat Alarm and Engine shutoff

I believe the heat soak issue for the 16's and later has been resolved, that's mainly a '15 and earlier SC 1.8 problem. I would get back to the marina get her level on the trailer or on the hard and check the oil again. If the tech at the marina isn't familiar with these engines he may not...

2013 Yamaha sx 192 bad gas?

I'm hoping the HEET will do the trick if you put it in and let it absorb the water.

2013 Yamaha sx 192 bad gas?

Had a similar situation when we bought our '13 190, I added the red bottle of HEET, filled the tank with NON ETHANOL gas, let the tank set for a day and she turned over rough at first and then smooth after. Never had a reoccurence and I started adding STARTRON when we filled up. The red bottle...

    Little help

I would pull the kill switch lanyard off both engines and reseat them both and see if that resolves the issue, then go to the back hatch and insure that the lid is very secure, if so lift the lid and check the kill switches for any dirt or grime. Those are the easiest "fixes" that come to mind...
