2019 242 Limited SE Connext GPS Issue (Boat thinks it’s in TN)

Glad to hear that you are back up and running GPS again!

    2019 Connext Navigation Question

It looks like things have changed, since I last updated my charts. Unfortunately, that is about all I know for the charting. Your questions would be best to ask Navionics about.

    2019 Connext Navigation Question

Yes, the updating of the mapping information at Navionics website can be done by yourself. If I remember correctly, the first time depending on the detail level is free. You will need to set up an account though. It's been at least two years since I went through this process. Someone please...

    2019 7 inch Connext Maps

There is no way of keeping your breadcrumb trail after shutting the system down. If you want to keep the system on while at a sand bar, you can turn the engines off and immediately turn the key back to the on position.

    New boater needing help...

Sorry to hear about your issues with your display. Just to make you feel more comfortable, do not worry about running the rest of the system when the display is not working. Since your engine started just fine, it is fairly safe to assume the voltage was good. Which you confirmed by testing it...

2016 242X connext "gateway comm error"

With the way the speed is so randomly showing Err, it makes me think of a wiring issue (Ex. loose terminal, corrosion). I think I remember you saying that you already checked the wiring though. I doubt it would be the power and ground wires for the GPS puck or you would have issues with other...

    4.3 Connex Screen Cal

The 4.3 in screens do not have a calibration screen. The information from an earlier post that you found is for the older 7 IN screens. The 4.3 in screens do have a diagnostic screen which is accessed by holding the Settings (Gear) button down for 3 seconds on the screen, but for this display...

    Strange fuses

Julian is correct. They are resistors. The 120 Ohm ones are termination resistors for the CAN/NMEA communications and the 1.2 k Ohm are for the lights.

Engine backwards hours on yamaha connect.

This is a known issue in the 242 model boats. There is a bug in the software causing the gap in engine hours. This does not affect the engine hours stored in the ECUs of the boat. Here is another thread talking about this issue: Engine hours out of sync

    Connext not booting up - ‘17 242SE

A covered block with three fuses and 2 relays should be mounted to one of the bulkheads in the battery area. The one you are looking for is the first yellow fuse (20 Amp). There is also a separate fuse mounted to the bulkhead in the same area, but that is for the ballasts. There is a similar...

    Unidentify part found in Bilge

Sorry for the poor quality pics., but it is a screw cover for the cock lever in the ballast system.

2019 242 Limited SE Connext GPS Issue (Boat thinks it’s in TN)

A picture of the GPS info from the diag. screen may help some here. I would take it to you dealer. If you want to troubleshoot yourself, the first step is to check for loose terminals in the connectors and power. You should have 12 volts at the red and black wire to the GPS connector with the...

Issue with WetSounds system on 242X

I agree with the people saying to take to the dealer. If you do want to check it out yourself. The 4 channel amp powers the tower speakers with the 6 channel amp powering all the deck speakers and the sub-woofer. I would suspect a loose pin or two in the connectors to the amplifier, since you do...

2019 Yamaha 242x e problem with 12 volt plug on dash not working

The fuse box is mounted on the same bulkhead that the battery switches are on. You will have to cut the zip tie on it, so you can open it. The fuse you need to check is the one with the orange box around it.

2019 242 LSE engines hours out of sync BAD!

I have not heard any more on the timeline. Sorry.

    Please help 2015 212SS CEL!

I have heard of that process before. I just can not remember where and whether it is legit. I agree though that YDIS should shed some light on what is going on with the CEL warning.

2019 242 LSE engines hours out of sync BAD!

I believe that these types of updates will always be dealer only. Just in case, something goes wrong with the update. It would be to protect the end users.

2019 242 LSE engines hours out of sync BAD!

That answer is yes. They should be rolling out a new software update campaign to fix what causes the discrepancy within the next couple of months and I heard they are working on a tool to set the engine hours. I have no exact date when all this will be rolled out but it is suppose to be coming.

    Auto bilge??? I'm a jackass...

In case anyone was wondering about their 242 being affected by the campaign. It only affects a small portion of the boats for MY18. MY19 boats are not affected at all. A notice should have been sent out about it already, if your boat was involved in this campaign.

    Auto bilge??? I'm a jackass...

All of the boats from MY18 and on had the type of bilge pump with a float. One of the hot (positive) wires goes to either a switch or the SPU for control by the Connext display. The other goes directly to the always hot side of the battery switch. This means that with the battery switches are...
