2011 242 LS took on water today!

Thanks for the note! I'll make sure the dealer does that as a part of it.

2011 242 LS took on water today!

Well, I got lucky on this one! The dealer looked at it and said no real damage to speak of. One starter has to be replaced and they're going to pickle the engines to be safe. The culprit was the scupper valve, so that will be replaced as well. This may be the last time I leave her in the...

2011 242 LS took on water today!

Thanks for the replies. I spoke with the dealer while on the way home today and they felt the scupper valve was also the culprit. According to them it tends to crack when the boats get to this age. I’m taking her in tomorrow for a prognosis.

2011 242 LS took on water today!

Today, I encountered something I’ve never seen before, so I would love advice from anyone who’s seen this before. By way of background, we have a 2011 242 LS that we bought new. She has been a gem, and I’ve never had to do anything except change plugs and oil annually, with the occasional trip...

Well, it finally happened - ran out of gas!

Thanks for the feedback! Yes, the intention wasn’t to run the boat dry. That was a flat out mistake. I do use Marine Stabil, but I have had an instance in the past where it failed on me. I ended up changing all the plugs, twice and then finally drained the tank and refilled and it worked, so...

Well, it finally happened - ran out of gas!

We took a family trip to Lake Ouachita last week. Had a blast on the lake, but I wanted to run the boat almost empty before leaving so I ran it down to the edge the last day. Well, apparently, I took the edge a little too far and we ran out of gas right before we got to the boat ramp. We...

What are the differences with new boats?

I have a 2011 242LS, and putting some thought into buying a new one. Can someone give me a feel for the differences? - Driving - Noise - Electronic steering. Would love to get general feedback from newer boat owners.

    Wake Wedge on either side

Thanks. I sent him a PM.

    Wake Wedge on either side

Thanks for the info. Yeah, I was thinking I would have to buy two. Here’s what I don’t get. The “Universal” Wake Wedge leads you to believe it can be moved to either side (also $150 higher price). What is the difference between it and the standard one?

    Wake Wedge on either side

Thanks for the advice. So, in your opinion should I purchase a ski locker bag, or can I get a good wave with just the transom bag and human weight? I typically have 6+ people in my boat.

    Wake Wedge on either side

After looking at feedback on the different surf options, I think I’ve decided to go with a Wake Wedge. It seems to produce the best wake, and is still reasonably to take on and off. That said, I have a few questions, and would love to get feedback from folks. 1. My boat is a stock 2011 242...

Can someone confirm or deny wake boarding behind 275

Sorry if already discussed, but I've seen a lot of discussion regarding a wake tower point on the boat. Can someone connected with Yamaha confirm or deny this? If they have taken the wakeboarder into consideration I'll be putting my old 242 up for sale immediately. If not, then this is just a...

    2019 Yamaha 275 Detail Images

Can you wakeboard behind this boat? The things sticking up above the Bimini looks like a light and not a rope anchor point.

What to buy for wake surfing???

We live very close to Grapevine so that is our "go to" on weekdays and Friday nights (fireworks). We usually launch at Twin Coves Park. Occasionally we'll go to Lewisville. We launch from Pilot Knoll.

What to buy for wake surfing???

Yes, we all surf. Our good friends own a Mastercraft so we've been doing it for a few years. My wife and kids are all regular, but I'm goofy footed so being able to switch sides is important. Re: ballast I saw that Gantlin has a custom bag for the swim platform. It looks interesting, but I...

What to buy for wake surfing???

With all the new wake surf inventions coming out I'm confused as to which would be best to buy. I would love to get advice from those who have experience at this. I currently have a 2011 242 LS with no ballast. Our family would like to be able to surf. I looked at the videos of the Wake...

Any videos of Soundown kit installation?

Do you happen to have any details or photos of your project? I would love to learn more from your experience. I'm not in a position to purchase a new model.

Actually, that isn’t so bad! I think I’ll try it.

    Gas & depth gauge - 2011 242 Limited S

I see you're in MN. I'm guessing the water is still freezing for my taste! Our water temps are in the upper 80s here in Texas.
