    Trailer Ground Problem

Success! Since the utility trailer is collapsible there are three sections to the frame. 20 years ago when it was new the bolts that held the sections together shared raw metal. Over the years corrosion has taken its toll! By connecting each section with wire I was able to provide continuity...

    Trailer Ground Problem

I scraped the trailer down to bare metal. I have power to light and good ground. New light still does not work. I will remove tomorrow and inspect. I have the old one that worked and will try it. Maybe the new light is broken inside. Thanks for your reply.

    Trailer Ground Problem

I have a 4’x8’ utility trailer that I just replaced lights and wiring. Hooked it up to my car and no lights. Upon investigation I found no continuity on both sides of trailer frame. I spot checked the passenger side by scraping down to metal and checked resistance. This is a collapsible trailer...

    Tow rope in 120XR Sportjet

Hi, Tried using the hook razor blade. Got a little more out. Ran boat around lake at various speeds. Gunned it several times and all works fine. The little pieces that I can still see I’m not going to worry about. I will monitor after each day on the lake. Maybe they will work themselves out...

    Tow rope in 120XR Sportjet

Thanks! These photos are from a YouTube video I made when my shift cable broke. As you can see it is a big job to remove gate and housing to get to impeller and shaft. I’ve had the boat since 2001 and have never taken the front of the assembly off except to replace the ionization bar (gray metal...

    Tow rope in 120XR Sportjet

Hi, Been working the last few days cutting out the stuck tow rope from my 1996 Regal Rush 120xr Sportjet impeller. This is the worst one yet. Finally got enough of it out to start the boat. I ran around the lake a few times then put it back on the boat lift. Unfortunately there are still a few...

Replace Starter on 1996 Regal Rush Sportjet 120XR

The fuel enrichener was not working. When I primed too much fuel went into the carbs. After the needle valves were replaced and carbs cleaned and a new enrichener installed the engine started fine and no leaks. When I replaced the starter it even started better!! I should have changed or cleaned...

Replace Starter on 1996 Regal Rush Sportjet 120XR

You may want to watch my videos Parts 1, 2 and 3 - engine won’t start. It turned out to be small jets in carburetors and fuel enrichener replaced. If primer bulb is hard it is either primed or the plastic is too old. I never use the bulb now except if I haven’t started the Sportjet XR120 in...

1996 Regal Rush XP 120 jet boat - Broken Control/Shift Cable

Hi, it's been a while. I posted about my latest challenge - 1996 Regal Rush XR120 - Steering. I narrowed it down to a broken tooth on one of the gears in the helm. I should be receiving the new helm tomorrow. Are you selling the parts off your 1994 Regal? I was wondering about the steering cable...

    1996 Regal Rush XR120 - Steering

I pulled the steering cable back to the engine compartment and tested movement of rudder/nozzle port and starboard. Works fine. I could not find the serial number of the cable but found Teleflex stamped on the cable about two feet from the end. I contacted Regal with Sportjet SN and they said...

    1996 Regal Rush XR120 - Steering

I was able to remove the steering wheel and helm from the boat. Upon opening the helm I found 2 broken teeth to one of the gears. Plus the shaft was worn and corroded under the bezel. I was not surprised since the jet boat is 23 years old and I just replaced the shift control cable a few months...

    1996 Regal Rush XR120 - Steering

Was able to take boat out of the water yesterday. Checked the movement of steering wheel and rudder nozzle. It seems to have full range of motion from port to starboard!!! Will investigate further but does anyone have experience with little or no steering to port when under power, then...
