    1.8L engines missing/vibrating

I finally got to take the boat out this past weekend. I just wanted to share that the rubber couplers were the cause of the noise in the first post. The engine vibrating/noise at idle is completely gone.

    1.8L engines missing/vibrating

I removed the entire airbox assembly. This is very simple and opens up a lot of access. The rubber coupler between the exhaust and waterbox also needs to be loosened so they will seperate when sliding the engine forward. If I recall, I don't think I disconnected or removed anything else. You...

Boat Stuff Steering Bushing 5 Pack Half Length

Hi Bruce, I ordered a set of your bushings. Hopefully these are still available.

    1.8L engines missing/vibrating

My parts are still on back-order so I have not started looking into this yet.

    1.8L engines missing/vibrating

Yes. #1 is the rubber engine coupling.

    1.8L engines missing/vibrating

I am not changing the metal couplers. I am being told to change these requires quite a bit of torque and heat to break them loose. I don't want to deal with that working inside the boat. I am going to skip the new Yamaha Quiet Ride setup and just replace the stock rubber couplers. Since my...

    1.8L engines missing/vibrating

I will be changing these out myself. The ETA for the couplers is showing 15-90 days. LOL. They really know how to narrow it down. It might be a while before I can get these changed.

    1.8L engines missing/vibrating

The noise of the motors quiet down in the water compared to my video, but my motors still have the excessive vibration/missing out signs. It is intermittent as well. I really think it is the couplers. Hopefully the backordered couplers won't be too long so I can get them installed and post...

    1.8L engines missing/vibrating

My motors have the same vibrating/missing when at idle in the water as well.

    1.8L engines missing/vibrating

The member dan bebe who has been messaging me said it should be tight. He is a yamaha tech. He changes them all the time. I know mine are worn out so I am going to change these before doing anything else. Unfortunately, these are on back-order with no ETA from Yamaha so it will be a while.

    1.8L engines missing/vibrating

I finally got to my boat to start checking things. There is zero signs of any issues with the stainless liner or impeller. There is zero play up and down when grabbing the shaft through the clean out ports. Thanks to jetboaters.net member dan bebe who messaged me, I think I found an issue...

    1.8L engines missing/vibrating

It looks like Yamaha went to plastic liners in 2019 in the 212x. There are a lot of common parts between my 2014 and the 2019, but several more are different than just the plastic liner and housing. Does anyone know if I can get by with just buying the new impeller housing and inserts or would...

    1.8L engines missing/vibrating

Is there any way to verify whether its the intermediate bearings versus the liners? What causes the impellers to rub on those liners? Are most people putting stainless back in or are there delrin replacements?

    1.8L engines missing/vibrating

I pulled the original plugs after the first year and replaced them with a different type that Swatski recommended here on the forum. I put these low hour OEM plugs back in and ran the boat the day before these videos were taken to see if there was a difference. I did not see any. I figured I...

    1.8L engines missing/vibrating

Here are 3 video links to my engines running in a 2014 212X. One is for the port engine, starboard, and both running. This is with the boat on the lift without water attached. This is a freshwater boat since new. It appears each engine is missing out at idle based on what I am seeing with...

    Sea Dek Dragon Scales…

Here are the JBP dragon scales on a couple boats. They were linked in the latest email from JBP I received. These are tri-color options so they are not available for next months group buy. You can get dragon scales, just not tri-color...

    2015 Yamaha 212ss Stereo Upgrade

I mounted mine in the dead space forward of the steering wheel/instrument cluster. The back pad of the forward lounger comes off and there is an access hole. Since all the existing wiring goes there anyway (head unit) it is easy. You will need a very large gauge wire to run big amps up there...

    2015 Yamaha 212ss Stereo Upgrade

    2) Just be aware (if you use the stock wiring) that the rear speakers and swim dock speakers share the same wiring so the amount of power going to those is not the same. The rest of the speakers have dedicated wiring (not shared). 3) There may be some people that have done it, not sure. You...

    2015 Yamaha 212ss Stereo Upgrade

    1) That Clarion head unit already has a Bluetooth dongle added to it from the factory. It should be on AUX 2. It is kind of a pain to get it to pair the first time. You have to turn the battery switch off, start searching for bluetooth on your phone, then switch the battery back on and the...
