Boat 2016 SX240 (Punta Gorda, Florida) $36K reduced

Selling my 2016 SX240 with no trailer. Sold the trailer back in 2021. Boat has 176 hours on the motors. I bought it from a guy in Maine 2017 with 25 hours. I flush both engines after each use with hose water & Salt-Away solution. I have changed the oil & plugs each year. Had the impeller...

    Hurricane Ian <updates>

It has been several months since I signed on to the forum. I live in Punta Gorda Florida and made it thru Ian ok. My 20/20 hindsight answer to the question of leaving the cover on the boat during a hurricane.....I would remove it. Both my bow and cockpit covers were destroyed by Ian...

Will gas prices effect your summer boating/trip plans?

The Federal Reserve easy money policy for way too long. I thought the reckoning was going to happen a couple years back...surprised it took this long

Will gas prices effect your summer boating/trip plans?

Yeah I switched from Publix to Winn Dixie. I set up a Winn Dixie account and I think I am getting more for my buck. I used to grocery shop by just throwing whatever I wanted in the cart BUT now I search for all the bargains at Winn Dixie. :) Oh and about a month ago we put a halt on going...

Will gas prices effect your summer boating/trip plans?

Yeah I have to admit gas and inflation of everything has slowed down my boating activity. I have definitely gone back to the my 5 gallon gas cans to fill up the boat instead getting gas on the water at the marina. I think my local marina is up to $6.50 (maybe higher).

Impeller housing replacement (OEM or WSM??)

I was going to mention the video from Cpt Leon.....but see you commented on his Youtube video 10 days ago. LOL If I was stilling living in my house in Maryland, I would have done this job myself. Does NOT look too hard. Good luck!!

Impeller housing replacement (OEM or WSM??)

I thought they were OK. I have only dealt with the folks in Cape Coral (on 46st Lane SE ....I think). The folks I dealt with were nice enough and fixed my boat pretty quickly once I got them the parts. My repairs ended up to be kind of expensive (I think $1900)...but that included them...

Moving advice: Midwest -> Florida (or Atlanta)

I grew up Upstate NY then moved to Maryland in my early 30's. Moved to SW FL a couple years ago. To be honest summer in Southern MD is just about as humid & hot as SW Florida summer. BUT I think SW Florida summer might be 2 months longer :) The BIG lesson I finally learned with surviving...

Moving advice: Midwest -> Florida (or Atlanta)

Yup. I just paid $375 for a Cape Coral Yamaha jet boat dealer to pull my boat and trailer it to their place. I think they got me for 2 1/4 hours for that. I had to have my impeller housings replaced. I decided to drive the boat back to house after it was fixed. Figured the $125 +/- in gas...

Trim Tab install while on lift?

I don't own a trailer anymore. Leave my boat on the lift year-round. I am weighting my options for a trim tab install. For the folks that have installed trim tabs, you think it is a good idea for to install them while the boat is on the lift? Or very very bad idea?

Will there be a trim tab group buy this year?

So with our forum discount how do these trim tabs cost for a 2016 sx240? Also how much do you think install should cost?

Moving advice: Midwest -> Florida (or Atlanta)

I have had my sx240 on the Gulf at least three times in the last 12 months. However, I mostly stay in the waters protected from the Gulf by the Cayo Costa, Boca Grand, and Captiva islands. But if I was retired and had more time, there are plenty of days where I would feel comfortable on the...

Moving advice: Midwest -> Florida (or Atlanta)

If you really want warm/hot weather all year I would pick SW Florida. I have been here in SW Florida since August 2020 and really enjoy my area in Punta Gorda Isles (PGI). I am not sure what kind of work schedule you would keep as your type of pilot. That is...it's not like you are driving...
