So who has the most hours on their engines?

I had a jet ski from 2005 to about 2015 and put 400 hours on the engine. I've now had the sx210 for 11 years and have about 300 hours on the engines. I find that with the ski I would hit the water and ride until we were done with very little time just sitting on the ski without the engine...

    Ryobi High Volume Inflator

Same here. Those old 18V Black & Decker batteries are not very good.

    Ryobi High Volume Inflator

Yes the adapters can be put on the top for deflation.

    Ryobi High Volume Inflator

I wanted to report on a great little inflator when I found this thread from 2017. The Ryobi is quite similar to the one I bought. We already have two inflator pumps on board. They have a long extension cord and plug into the 12V socket on the dash of our SX210. They work but are a bit slow and...

    Check your trailer bunks

https://www.ultimatebunkboards.com/ Just be aware that the ultimate bunk boards are not as stiff as wood. They will mostly support the boat where the bunk boards meet the metal mounting points. I was concerned about this but after 4 years it doesn't bother me any more. However we rarely drive...

    Replaced bunks on MFI trailer

When I replaced my bunk boards I used UBBs and covered them with material. The UBBs will never need to be replaced but they are not as firm as wood. It's a tradeoff. I only trail about 15 miles each way to the lake.

    Replaced bunks on MFI trailer

My 2006 sx210 is in the side yard. I measured two 9' and two 5' bunks. But I see no reason why you couldn't use 10' in place of the 9'.

Chemical-free traction mat glue removal (Pink Eraser)

I have the original carpet in our 2006 SX210 which still looks good. After having to remove the swim deck pad there is no way I'd put Sea Deck in the cockpit. I can't imagine the task of removing all of that pad when it gets old. I'll stick with carpet and snaps.

Chemical-free traction mat glue removal (Pink Eraser)

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I was having a miserable time removing the swim deck mat. This is the second time I've replaced the mat, the first lasted 7 years, this time 6 years. I well remember the arduous task it was the first time and it seems to be worse this time. From my first mat...

Saw three Yamaha jet boats today

I've boated on Whiskytown Lake near Redding CA for 8 years. I might see another single Yamaha on the lake every third or forth day trip. Today I saw three other boats. One was a new 19', another 24' and the third I didn't identify. Looks like boaters are getting smart and buying Yamaha jet...

The official "What did you do to your jet boat today" thread.

Changed the oil and filters which I do every 25 engine hours. This boat requires minimal maintenance. After owning it (bought used) for 10 years I've had zero problems with the engines or pumps. Very minor things with the boat (replaced horn, fixed sticky gasket around storage cabinet, swapped...

    2005 AR230 depth gauge

Same here. Our 2006 SX210 depth gauge has always been intermittent. I was thinking the solution might be to mount the transducer inside the hull but never got around to doing that work. I have a complete spare setup with transducer, cable, and gauge. I've temporarily tried to replace each one...

    Rear ladder coming out?

I've used both the OEM strap (black rubber) and the bungee ball. In fact just this week I removed the OEM strap because it was too difficult for kids to use. I replaced it with the Bungee ball which works just fine.

The official "What did you do to your jet boat today" thread.

Well not what I did "today" but a couple of days ago. My boat sits in the side yard 24/7 with an aftermarket cover on it. I also keep a 9 watt boat heater in it to keep it dry and prevent mold. That's all that is needed through the whole winter because our Redding CA winters are quite mild (not...

    Welcome to JETBOATERS.net!

The engines are just getting broken in. These engines are used in several boats and jet skis. Rental companies are getting 1,000 to 2,000 hours out of these engines. No brand is 100% reliable but Yamaha engines are amazing. I have over 200 hours on my twins and the only maintenance is regular...

    Tire problem

Well I'd like to take credit for building the pusher but not so. The plans I bought on eBay. Then I purchased all the raw materials. I quickly realized I just didn't have the equipment needed to do the job so my friend did it for me. He spent two full days on it in his shop. Those photos can be...

    Tire problem

I only have 2-3" of clearance on both sides when backing into the side yard of the house. Also there are utility boxes in the way. So I can't do it with the tow vehicle. I use a boat pusher which runs at a very slow walking pace. As I turn the boat into the tight space I do have to push the...

    Tire problem

I just noticed this strange damage on our boat trailer. These tires were installed 4/22/2012 but have very few miles on them. Lets say 10 trips a year * 30 miles round trip * seven years = 2,100 miles. What the heck would cause this problem? It doesn't look like any kind of tire wear I've ever...

I've been wanting to do that for years. I have the new transducer in hand but never got around to it. I'll be interested to read your comments on how it works. Thanks for posting.
