Volvo penta ql300 trim tabs installed

Finally a great solution for trim tabs well implemmented. Impressive. How easy is to remove the system to access the coolant drain plugs? Is it screwed in fairly permanent (sealants/ glues or others?) or would you say its easy to take them down and put back on?

    Thermoelecric coolers

Yes, I do have it permanently on (house battery). I have two batteries in the boat, and I also have a NOCO jump starter with me for emergencies. That being said, the cooler has a voltage detector that will shut down the cooler if the voltage falls below a level you can program (three settings I...

SOLD Scarab 255 HO - (500 HP) boat for sale

Well, the time has come. It is time for our boat to go to another boat loving family. We will be boat-less for a while but definitely plan to return to boating in the future and hope to join some jetboaters on other adventures. Our boat is a 500HP version of the 2017 255 HO, it has under 120...

Left dead in the water today!!

I would guess, as it is sold as a unit. Sounds like you may have some other issues going on if you are tripping the breaker though.

Left dead in the water today!!

The circuit breaker was tripped? This should not cause a circuit breaker trip.

Left dead in the water today!!

See below the picture which shows the valve components inside, my comment was that from your picture in this thread it appeared the spring loaded check valve was missing. That spring is not a part you can buy in the catalog, you would have to replace the entire valve assembly if its...

    electrocution - isolated accident?

https://www.foxnews.com/us/arizona-lake-electrocution-incident-lake-pleasant-scorpion-bay-dock This article calls it a "isolated accident" but I have read about accidents like this several times since I started boating. The boating safety courses tell you not to swim around marinas/docks, and...

Left dead in the water today!!

It seems that when the filter became loose it pulled the top of the crankcase ventilation valve, the valve also has a switch/sensor to detect if the boat is capsized (TOPS) that would shut you down if triggered (something more for jet skis but here we have it). You may want to replace it since...

    Driveshaft Stripped

It seems from the picture like there is no grease on the shaft or impeller. or was it cleaned out for the picture? The shaft requires annual or 100 hours inspection and greasing (triple guard grease).

    Possible Impeller issue? NEWBIE

Yes, you remove the pump from the nozzle side, no need to remove the grate. This should give you an idea of the process to take it off. p.s. not suggesting you have to change your ring, the video is just so that you can see how the system works.

    Possible Impeller issue? NEWBIE

Somewhat hard to judge from your pictures but it looks like the impeller boot is showing threads or missing. Also you seem to have a gap that needs to be checked on your wear ring, possible source or cavitation. If there was no obstruction and it was me: I would pull the pump out to check the...

I reset it. Hasn't come back on. I use candoopro.com to reset it.

Spark plugs & Fault code help

I just had exactly the same thing happen on one engine. So watching with interest. I changed the plugs and coils and has been ok so far the last 4 hours. In addition to what has been mentioned here (if you haven't used the boat much) you could have condensation from the intercooler getting into...

    Rotax 4Tec 200 overheating

There doesn't seem to be a way to bleed it, it seems that eliminating air pockets is all depending on how you fill it (level, and let some coolant flow through before you close the plug on the ride plate) On some engines I use a vacuum filler but I couldn't even figure out how to do that here...

    Rotax 4Tec 200 overheating

Normal op temp is under 200F. Is the ride plate warm? If its not warm you may have an obstruction, air in the system, or a faulty thermostat valve or coolant pump impeller. The thermostat opens at 188F. Thermostat is inside the pump housing and the pump housing is in the back of the engine...

No Instrument Power, but Engine DOES start!

There is a breaker called "Boat Power" check to see if it is tripped, if it is not tripped check the voltage coming out of the breaker (if you understand how to work with electricity). I had to replace some of mine due to internal corrosion, even though they were not tripped the corrosion...

Scarab 215 No power to bilge, stereo, dash cluster..please help

Check your breakers, and I'm not saying check if they are tripped. Even though they may not be tripped I have replaced some already due to internal corrosion. Check the voltage coming out of the breakers. Other than that, due to the multiple failures, you may have a disconnected ground as above.

    2020 195 Open ID - 2 Questions

The fixed fire extinguisher option is a fire extinguisher bottle that sits inside the engine bay with a special nozzle that activates in the event of a fire and can also be remotely activated with a "pull lever" that is near the helm in my 255.

Scarab 255 Open ID in River Water

While debris and weeds are all relative assessments (and I don't have any complaints in that area with Scarab), I think the 5 MPH speed limit would be a deterrent for me to own any jet boat in that area. Jet boats track poorly at low speeds and need lots of steering input constantly correcting...
