Rescue buoy or rescue bag recommendations

Going forward, I am going to keep two throwables PDF by the helm, one with a line and one without, and I can use one as a seat cushion. In retrospect, accessibility is key. In our situation we came off the beach under full power into a very choppy area, so no one was in position to open a hatch...

Rescue buoy or rescue bag recommendations

I like your approach and I think this sounds like the best set up, a throwable square with a line, stored by the captains seat. My fire extinguisher is also buried somewhere, I’m going to but 2 more this weekend and have them close by. Thanks!

Rescue buoy or rescue bag recommendations

What do you use to recover a person in the water AND where do you store it? Close call this weekend, we were beached up well inside a pass. A family was nearby and the dad jumped in and tried to swim across the pass. Well, the tide was going out the pass and the current was ripping! The wind was...

My holeshot is more like a dribble

Thanks a million. The photo is poor but there is a chunk of sealant missing on the port tunnel, 3rd picture. Anything to be concerned about? I can try to get a better shot is needed.

@swatski , my photos are not the best, what do you think?

My holeshot is more like a dribble

Thanks @swatski I will take some photos next weekend. I found many videos on inspecting and replacing impellers, not much about the sealant.

My holeshot is more like a dribble

A bit of an overstatement. It still comes out strong but not the way it used to when I could send people sliding down the seat to the back of the boat. Top speed is still all there, easy to break 50mph. Only 80 hours and recently serviced, runs smooth. Do I need to check the impellers?

242 limited S wakeboard tower rack

I looked for a while and bought the monster combo surf/wake rack with a swivel adapter, I believe I paid around $350+. It has held up well and is sturdy. I think ebay had some cheaper ones but looked of lower quality. My boat will do 50 mph and I didn't want to chance a board sailing off.

    2017 212X...... Surfing? Nope.

For what its worth, my BIl bought a 2016 Moomba Mondo 'Surf Edition' for around 60k, no trailer. We couldn't get enough wave to surf it without the rope and he had to have bigger bags installed and bought 200 pounds of steel shot. The boat is a whole different beast from the Yamaha. To take it...

Anchoring - heavy chain vs longer chain?

I have a Fortress Fx 7 with the rode chain size and length recommended by Fortress and it always holds fast. I anchor in fairly shallow water with Sandy bottoms and in strong winds I never had a problem. Vast improvement over my Yamaha anchor.

Any theories on what caused this?

That will buff out, I wouldn't be concerned;)

What are the stock batteries for 2013 242 Limited S?

I would like to get new batteries and would like to save a trip to the storage yard, take the cover off and see what is in there. I could find nothing in the owners manual about the battery specs.

I absolutely LOVE my Tundra, but...

My 2016 Tundra gets 8 mpg when towing my boat from Orlando to Naples. One of the main reasons I bought it was the cabs big back seat area, I thought it would be plenty of space for the kids. Big mistake, the 3 of them can't sit in the same row for 5 minutes before mayhem breaks out. Wish I...

    Buddy A-60 Actuator Problems

I have a 2013 Shorelandr with the Trailer Buddy A-60 Actuator. I have a hell of a time getting it on and off the hitch ball. Hooking up I need to lower slowly, at the same time lower the A-60 handle as it sits on the ball, otherwise the lip gets caught up on the bottom of the ball and it won't...
