RIVA Maptuner X ECU Reflash: Throttle Response and Speed Control

Competition drives prices. Maptuner is not overpriced for what it does because there is no competitor. I ran Dean's tune which is arguably the best tune on the market. Before I sold the boat I swapped to Maptuner. The boat ran just as fast, but with a little better low end.

SOLD SOLD 2015 SX 192 Greenville, SC

A local guy bought it. I told him about the forum but I don't know if he joined. I met him at the lake and did a walk thru then took him and his son for a quick rip to 60 mph. Going to miss the boat, but need to move on to other things.

    Ridiculous Pricing

A boat is usually an impulse buy and rarely a smart financial decision. It's hard to critique prices on such a poor investment. Supply, Demand, Inflation, Access to Financing and Instant Gratification drive prices. Measure of value is what something is worth to you vs what something is worth...

Ridesteady with supercharged engine require bov?

I don't think that would hurt anything. The damage is done when the throttle is cut back instantly from high rpm. A good example is a jetski catching air and hitting the rev limit over and over, or cutting the throttle hard every time you stop. I think its more of slow buildup of damage...

    Yamaha 195s 2020 + performance

I brought up chine walk in that speed post, but I think its something else. The waverunners suffer from "overstuffing" the pump. It has caused serious injuries to some of the ski guys. Not sure if it would be as drastic in a boat, but it might have been what I felt that day. Regardless of...

2020 ar190 IATs and other questions

Internals are not the same. Lower compression pistons, different cam and much larger fuel injectors in the SVHO. 10 psi on a stock NA motor would be a quick boom.

2017 Yamaha AR195 - Working through issues at elevation & addressing performance

Good work sticking with it. Sounds like that impeller is perfect. You still have some head room before the rev limiter for lower elevation.

192 Heat Soak After IC swap

The stock strainer plate can be drilled out. You can be as aggressive as you like, but its a trade off of less filtering for more water flow. Im always in clean water so it's no problem. If I were in dirty or shallow water I would run the stock strainer. Tapping the strainer plate and...

    AR192 Power

No. It will improve the hole shot. You want to get your rpm up around 7500.

    AR192 Power

You're going to need to de-pitch that impeller a bit. Small changes can make a big difference. 3mm is about all you can bend that impeller, and that should get you to a decent rpm.

Should I conduct a nitrous test???

12 psi should have you around 60 mph. The stock pumps are fine for that power. 8500 rpm with stock pitch impellers should be around 56 mph. Repitch stock impellers should be able to hit 59-60mph. There are turbo kits, but none that I've seen that would be bolt on in a boat. This would get...

SX 195 Overheat Alarm and Engine shutoff

The Type14 is a good upgrade, but it is a DIY mod. You will have to purchase many fittings, hoses and clamps to make it work. The Type 14 will attach to your stock lines with the right fittings, but will need a dedicated cooling line to see its full potential. You can tap the strainer plate...

SX 195 Overheat Alarm and Engine shutoff

If someone based their purchase on this information how many would be 100% happy with the performance of their boat? How many can even run 50 mph consistently? https://jetboaters.net/threads/the-brand-new-2017-yamaha-ar195-and-sx195.11062/

SX 195 Overheat Alarm and Engine shutoff

This is why I don't post much here anymore. Condescending comments and people giving advice without knowledge. The heat soak problem is mainly with the 1.8 SHO engines thru 2016. The 2017 came with the SVHO engine and has an upgraded intercooler and oil cooler. The SVHO is less likely to...

SX 195 Overheat Alarm and Engine shutoff

Heat soak is a problem on all supercharged Yamaha boats and some of the Waverunners. Some people don't notice it because they don't push their engines hard. None of the supercharged boats will perform at full potential for more than a few minutes in warm weather. If the oil is low it will...

SX 195 Overheat Alarm and Engine shutoff

Probably did not hurt anything. These engines are known to heat soak, meaning that the factory cooling system is not adequate to maintain peak power. Upgrading the intercooler would help, but I wouldn't run wide open for more than 2-3 minutes for any reason.

    192 use a 190 6CW impeller at altitude?

The NA 190 boats have big cavitation problems with ANY added power. If your 192 at elevation is making any more power than a NA 190 at sea level it will have cavitation problems with the 6CW impeller. Small adjustments to the factory impeller can make a really big difference. There's a...
