    2024 season upgrades/mods

    - More ballast, thinking ~400-500 lbs of steel shot - Thinking about adding Phender Pros as well: Amazon Link - Maybe another surf board for the collection

    Backyard Pizza

We have a Ooni Fyra 12 going on about 3 yrs now. Here's my take on Oonis...they make good wood fired pizzas for the cost/ease-of-use factor. I went with the pellet fired one since I have a pellet smoker, so already have plenty of fuel. I don't have any propane stuff (switch to NG and won't go...

    Any good office chair

Here's the one I went with, just another mesh chair option to compare to the others. Had it for a little over a yr. now, daily use (WFH 100%). GABRYLLY Mesh Office Chair

    Soundbars

Wet Sounds seems to be the best in the biz for soundbars, at least for boats and UTVs. On my tower I put a WS Stealth 10 SURGE soundbar and it worked great, it would carry sound far enough for surfing and hanging out behind the boat. I wired it with a separate volume control from the in-boat...

Tesla truck / 1st time out with my new electric vehicle

Sort of funny to see Ford's response showing the Lightning on the same hill. Seems apples to apples but who knows all the details.

For comparison, just a small bit of color down here @biffdotorg... This was from today on Tonka (9/21).

Welcome to the Wisconsin and Minnesota Regional Forum!!

Good luck on the search, but you are in better shape starting now vs. waiting till next spring to get something lined up. Outside the marinas on the lake, one place to look is on one of the the Lake Minnetonka Facebook groups (there are a couple). I know slips get posted there from time to time.

Guys, what is the max size of Yamaha boat people are towing and launching/retrieving with the BMW X5 ?

Dry weight of a 25' boat ranges from 3900 lbs. (SX252) to 4500 lbs (252SD). Add the trailer (1000 lbs?) , gear, gas (75 gallons = 450 lbs) and then people in your X5 and you are pushing 100% (or more) of the towing capacity. In my opinion, that's too much for a 100 mile journey.

    Ease of surfing setup?

Pretty significant difference in wave size/quality. Moomba pic is stock setup (no add'l ballast, 3 people in the boat), Yamaha was running a 800 lb bag under the port rear seat in this pic and the same 3 people in the boat. I sometimes added a 650lb bag strapped to the swim platform, but that...

    Ease of surfing setup?

Having recently moved on from our beloved Yamaha AR210 to a Moomba Mojo I might be uniquely qualified to comment and help you with some answers. 😁 How much do you plan on using this boat, and how much of that time do you intend to be doing watersports? There is a tipping point where a wake...

Thoughts and demo rides of wake / towsports boats: Moomba Max, Axis A22, MB Sports

Sorted out the ballast situation, definitely had a good amount of air in the bags. Going to look into re-doing the vents on the rear bags, not a great design with those 'breathable' plugs that don't breath at all on top to release the air. Great details on the Moomba forum for that, just have...

Thoughts and demo rides of wake / towsports boats: Moomba Max, Axis A22, MB Sports

After riding the wave for the first time last night I have a feeling that my rear bags are holding air like a few others complained about (on the Moomba Forum I can't get access to 😭 ), so looking at that next time I'm out. Push should be more, but I'm sure there are things to tweak. Totally...

Thoughts and demo rides of wake / towsports boats: Moomba Max, Axis A22, MB Sports

After 5 months of patiently waiting...today was new boat delivery day. I was able to hit the water for a short spin around and quick ballast/wave test. Really happy with how it has all come together. Didn't get too many pics tonight so I'll get some soon and post more, but that wave...

Is this *just* a gel coat repair?

Just my opinion... That looks to be a more significant damage and should be professionally repaired. I don't feel the Spectrum patching would 'fix' it, might be underlying damage there. Looks like that was struck by another boat or the boat struck a dock or dock piling.

    AR210 vs 195S

I debated the same when purchasing out AR210... Looked at them side by side at the dealership and the additional beam width and length was worth going with the bigger boat. Many years later I would have regretted going with a smaller boat. Obviously there are other things to consider like where...
