Very cool. On a shelf in my basement sits an unfinished wooden model of a skipjack. I bought the kit for my Dad around about 2003 or so. He happily built the hull and cabin (the directions call for the techniques used to build the real thing) but after painting it, he "ran out of steam" on...

Post up your funny MEMES (Nothing Political Please)

I burst out laughing until I was in tears when I read this. That was so smooth. My Wife wants to know what's so funny. Nothing My Love. Nothing.

If I didn't have that ONE TIME IN 25 YEARS that I actually used one of them, I wouldn't be saving all 745 of those cables so SHUT UP! By the way - anyone have a cable organizer or 10 they want to get rid of? ;)

Those 4-letter words gave us a little "salting" the Sunday night. Here in SE WI you could see easily count individual flakes on the deck the next morning - so nothing much - but we know it's coming. Back home in the U.P. is a different story of course. Here's a live-shot of a webcam in...

    rodent protection in storage

I've had better luck with moth balls than Irish Spring. I tried that and found half-bars with teeth-marks in them and Irish-Spring scented mouse turds all over the place. In my case, I have year-round access to my boat as it's in a self-storage unit. I learned early on that the answer is...

Those little white spots would be snow...... They basically melted instantly, but they existed nonetheless. 32 Deg F walking Doggo this morning. Yikes. Them seasons be a-changing!

Group Buy LECTROTAB – Yamaha Group Buy - Now Through Oct 2020!

Yup. 3M 5200 will seal the holes. (I wasn't thrilled with drilling that many holes in my boat either.) Alternatively, you could do a "Three Stooges" and drill another hole to let the water back out. :)

No experience with these, but I'd say you'll lose out on the ability to counter a beam-sea. In my limited experience, I'd say that's probably the biggest advantage of adjustable tabs.

Cheese and Cracker or Charcuterie Table

Oh, I dunno. I mean, firing a belt-fed weapon WHILE eating bacon? That's about as much fun as you can have with your clothes on if you ask me....

Cheese and Cracker or Charcuterie Table

Charcuterie (/ʃɑːrˈkuːtəri/ (listen) shar-KOO-tər-ee, also US: /ʃɑːrˌkuːtəˈriː/ (listen) -EE, French: [ʃaʁkyt(ə)ʁi] (listen); from chair, 'meat', and cuit, 'cooked') is a French term for a branch of cooking devoted to prepared meat products, such as bacon, ham, sausage, terrines, galantines...

Heading North tomorrow to shut down Mom's cottage. Finished her Christmas nutcracker yesterday: Gonna give it to her tomorrow when I get there so she has it for the Christmas decorating season. One down, two to go. (Mother-In-Law and, of course, the Wife are each getting one.)

$1,500 seems way steep to me, but (as others have mentioned) I do my own work. My own anal-retentiveness dragged the planning of the install out longer than it would have taken to do the whole job if it was somebody else's boat and I had 20 more lined up behind it. I installed the tabs...

That calendar looks familiar. Got one hanging in my basement. The one in my office probably looks like yours - unless someone's gone in there and thrown all my stuff out..... ;) We're supposed to be "prepared to go back" mid-January. We'll see....

Cool. Back in the 70's a trip to Copper Harbor MI to go camping always meant a trip to the "Bear Pit." Which was of course the town dump where all the black bears came for food. Cars would line up around the outer edge like a mini drive-in movie. I remember begging my parents to go from the...

Certified Mechanic in the Rockwall, TX DFW Area

I'm sure you're on top of this, but be sure to get some reviews on this Precision Marine outfit. When one place is booked out for months and the next can get you in in a few days that's a red flag to me. Either one isn't managing their time well or the other has a bad reputation.

Awesome! I was wondering about your screen name. Now I know for sure! I was born and raised 10 miles north of Houghton. Had to leave after I graduated Michigan Tech with my Elec Eng degree. Would have preferred to stay but just didn't feel comfortable economically. Not enough jobs...
