    Cooling Hose/Clamp Made Simple??

I installed a float a couple of years back. it worked flawlessly...but with the plugs in the engine bay, there was still some ponding. The screw clamps won't work in some locations. there's just no was to get tools in there.

    Cooling Hose/Clamp Made Simple??

I was out today enjoying the perfect Hawaii weather today and cruising along at WOT. Popped one of the main cooling lines off the starboard engine while in an ocean channel and lost the motor when the temp override put me into limp mode. Thank God the swells were calm, cause I was taking in...

can anyone send me a picture of an AR-230 trailer VIN sticker???

I have a trailer that I have extensively rebuilt due to salt water in Hawaii. I need to put a new VIN on it to register. I have my current registration and VIN number for the trailer, but the sticker on the trailer was pretty much destroyed with the welding, stripping, and painting. I need to...

rear channel not working on Sony factory rear speakers

I have installed a Sony marine stereo in my AR-230 Yamaha. It was working great, until this season where I noticed the rear speakers dropped off. I thought maybe the rear channel was toast on the receiver, so I ordered another as the original is a few years old and exposed to salt water. New...

will my AR-230 fit on this trailer????

My old frame is pretty flimsy...pretty rusted, and needs everything to be replaced. the frame is still in alright shape, but stripping and painting is not on my agenda. the metal is not galvanized and I only put into salt water. I ended up buying the trailer above. the frame is simply...

will my AR-230 fit on this trailer????

The price is right. $1500. I just don't know that the frame is big enough overall. I am really concerned about the tongue weight if the trailer is too short and I have too much hanging off the back. I don't really even know if my current trailer would be any good at hwy speeds. I drive 5...

will my AR-230 fit on this trailer????

I think i'm going to have to pass on this one. the trailer is 24ft overall and my old trailer is 27'. I don't want to go one inch shorter. I would rather have a touch more room than less.

will my AR-230 fit on this trailer????

I think the trailer in it's current set up is 18' 6" from the bow stop to the back of the bunk. My AR is 20' from bow stop to transom, not including the overhang for the swim platform. Overall trailer length is 30 feet (reportedly). The stock trailer is about 27'. Current bunk setup would...

will my AR-230 fit on this trailer????

My current trailer is falling apart. I'm looking for a replacement in Hawaii and found one that came up in my area for a deal. I have no idea if the boat will fit and how the heck to make sure of it short of buying the trailer and giving it a go. Any advice?? the center bunks are 2x6x 12...

Any tricks for getting fuel tank access panel off??

that is a great idea...never tried it before, but I did just snap a bolt off of the zinc plate on the jet pump and was able to power it out with the vice grips. impact worked very well on the other 3 bolts. I suppose I should change out all the bolts as I'm sure they are stressed out at this...

Any tricks for getting fuel tank access panel off??

Thanks for the info. I've done that in the past and found that once I have the pilot holes drilled, the larger bits can get hung up and explode (any tips??). The flip side is going through a hundred more expensive, larger sized bits.....You finished with the 3/8? then you tap with what? Can't...

Any tricks for getting fuel tank access panel off??

Oh Lord, 10 years on the ocean have taken their toll. i've sprayed everything twice...and the impact just keeps ripping the heads off the bolts. I think I'm 6 broken bolts into this job now. I want to run and hide. I'm tempted to just spin all the heads off with the impact and get to...

Any tricks for getting fuel tank access panel off??

trying to get the access panel off. Tried regular ratchet. Bolts broke. Shifted to large impact. Little better movement....2 bolts broke. I now have at least 5 broken. 3 I have caused and 2 or 3 from previous owner. Would love some input on how to not make this worse. Any input on drill and...

stranded...thought starter went, turns out to be a stuck pump

I was out in the water this weekend...in Hawaii, about 5 miles from the ramp when I decided to fire up the engines and head home. Sun was fading and the day was over...kids were spent. Fired up the starboard engine and then tried to start the port. Just a loud click from the solenoid...

    Snap in replacement bilge pump?

I just picked up a new Rule bilge at West Marine a month or so ago. The blue cage that it snaps into has changed slightly. Even though the pump was the same model and size, the way the basket fits on the pump housing has changed. I then decided to just switch to a non auto pump that I wired...

    Replacing Yamaha SX230 Scupper Valve

Did you Machine the outer ring to allow it to fully seat? I did notice that there was not much clearance on the nut. Just enough to keep it spinning. Hardest part was keeping the scupper positioned and prevent rotation. Def better to have an assistant.
