3 Star vs 4 Star Models???

It's normal. You'll smell something similar when you start your car in the morning. Our boats at certain times really keep the exhaust right there behind the swim platform. That's why when swimmers are in the water it's best to kill the motors (in addition to possible loose straps or clothing...

Does anyone tow their 24 footer with a Grand Cherokee? (or other vehicle rated near 6200 pounds?)

I think you'll be fine just don't expect to launch onto the freeways. Otherwise no problem. We towed our AR240, fully loaded with our Overland 2016 GC and there were no issues at all, especially once I dialed-in the brake controller.

    Intermediate bearing housing

May! LOL. Considering this was about leakage I suppose we were a little late to the game. :-)

    Intermediate bearing housing

Yeah, looks like over greasing of the bearing housing surround. I usually give mine one or two pumps per year and that's it. No excess when I've done it.

15 inch rim and tire conversion

Same thing here. Took off within first week to upgrade, and the chrome plastic coating was chipping off and there were rust spots everywhere.

    100% better, congratz!!

    2018 242x weight on trailer

Swatski, that's an impressive jack. Who makes it and where did you get it?

    2018 242x weight on trailer

Yeah, I can't contribute much on this one. My trailer weighs 8,100 pounds with a tongue weight of 1,400 pounds.

    Which on board charger?

I went with the proSport 20. It's charging a total of 4 large AGM batteries (200rc each). Been working flawless for over a year now. 17 at 5:50 PM[/GALLERY]

Changing house batteries location on my AR240

All good, guys. I don't expect folks to chime-in just to fill space, I was just surprised this gathered -zero- replies. :) So I had her on the lake for 4 days last week. She sits nearly perfect in the water now with about a 1" dip on the Starboard side (opposite by over 2" of how she was prior)...

    Seadek Installed Terra over Black

Ok so the pic with the plane...damn. Quick look and I thought : B-25? Then realized the nose was too slender. Anyway, what a beauty Sue is. Great choice in Seadeck colors. The rest of this I just posted in sofakingbig's Seadeck post but thought I would add it here too: Very nice! I did the same...

    Sea Dek In and DONE!!

Very nice! I did the same thing and love it. Get a bottle of simple green, dilute it 50% and keep that on board. It's the best stuff for scrubbing oil stains, red clay dirt stains, whatever, off of the Seadeck. However the locker cover has shrunk terribly due to the reflection off the day head...

Changing house batteries location on my AR240

No replies on this mystery but I'll update it anyway: On another thread I asked "how do the stators charge the batteries" With some of the great replies and help on that thread I decided to re-install the DVSR between the starting and house BEP's. Doing that solved my issue entirely. Now...

Installed my own fresh water shower

I only paid for some braided hose from the local hardware store, a pass-through hose connector and a custom 'wash-down' switch. Other than that, I already had a water pump from my RV, a coiled hose from my old Toy Hauler, a nozzle that came with a garden hose and all the wires and fuse holders I...

Underwater lighting - Lumitec SeaBlaze - Mounting Questions

Sorry, my AR is a few years newer. But have you considered the transom area so the light would fire rear-ward instead of down if mounted under the swim platform?

Before I am dropping $2500 on Stereo hardware...

Also, very cold water helps by closing the pores and not allowing the fibers in further. Towers are hollow, but get thin fishing tape to pull the wire through, it's not totally smooth in there. Maybe use dish soap a little to help. I used heavy ga. speaker wire with this coating on it that was...

    2015 242 ls TOP SPEED

I've got a 4 star CARB AR240 and 43 is normal with a load of people with 48-49 being the top speed with 2 people and a half tank of gas. Load and elevation take their toll. Also, some of these top speeds reported are with the Bimini down as those can act as a sail sometimes. Check your throttle...
