My Lectrotab Install (full guide included)

Finally got mine installed today. It was pretty quick (5 hours). I built good templates for the tabs and the controller. Anybody else have about 10 oz. of water come out of any holes? I also had to move my transducer toward the center of the boat. I just had to modify my mount. It attaches...

    Towing 242ES

This happened to me towing back on the freeway last night. I suspected it might happen, though. I have had this top for five seasons now and have never removed it when towing on the freeway (70-75 MPH) for short distances (20 miles). This spring I noticed some mildew growing on the bottom...

    2016 242 Engine surging

Never had it again but I change the plugs every season.

Yamaha anchor locker ladder. Do you ever use it?

We use it when we use launches that don't have docks. The boat driver orbits while the truck and trailer get put away. Then the boat driver approaches the shore bow first, truck driver climbs up the ladder as boat driver backs away from shore.

My Lectrotab Install (full guide included)

I don't really have a specific reason. Yes, I think they are less likely to be damaged if they are tucked up further, but maybe it would also keep an inexperienced user from easily over-deploying them and stuffing the bow. I just think, since we are still in the first five of years of...

My Lectrotab Install (full guide included)

I'm just thinking if it is unused travel, why not tuck them further up out of the way when not deployed.

My Lectrotab Install (full guide included)

So, I just purchased the same package from Russ at Lectrotab. I'm currently out of the country so I won't be able to install for a couple of months. This has given me time to do a lot of research on the tab installation. It seems most of those who have installed the tabs say they never use...

Awesome documentation. Are these the 16"x9" tabs?

    Yamaha Jet Boat Winter Cover?

I just use the premium mooring cover. I remove the Bimini and take everything out of the boat, plug in a small heater with fan that I bought from West Marine, and use a large container of damp rid that I check monthly. I also leave the drain plug out and crank the bow up as high as it will go...

Built what I call my "fishin' rack"

Yes. It's sturdy enough to do pull-ups on.

Built what I call my "fishin' rack"

Thanks for the compliments! Into my third season using it and still works great. Carbon fiber tubes are impressive; I've been slammed into the rack a few times from waves and it has always held solid.

    Annoyed

So this happened to me on the Saturday after Washington finally allowed boat launches to open (not opening weekend, but the next). I was launching at Point Defiance (nice launch, multiple lanes, huge trailer parking area). Same thing, over half the trailer spots were taken by cars. The line...

    Portable toilets in a 242

It's funny how people have such polarized opinions on portable toilets on a boat. The head compartment is the sole reason I have a 24' boat. Back when I began shopping for a boat, I was looking for a wakeboard boat in the 19' range, but my wife has a bladder the size of a chipmunk and didn't...

    Portable toilets in a 242

I use the same toilet and same bracket as Bogus. You just pull out a plastic piece that slide into the front bracket. It's very easy to do and keeps the toilet secure. Toilet is a Dometic 970 (2.8 gallon.) The brackets came with it.

    Towing 242ES

@HangOutdoors No worries, I just wanted to emphasize people should abide by the restrictions set forth in the manual. Too many variables at play to go strictly by what somebody says in a forum. [flag]

    Towing 242ES

@HangOutdoors The AR and E-Series biminis are completely different. That's why I said I wasn't quite sure which boat we're talking about. His post title says "ES"(?), and his profile has an "AR". I don't think my manual mentions any speed restrictions. I absolutely am not suggesting anyone...

    Towing 242ES

I'm not quite sure which boat we're talking about from the original post, but it seems like I'm the odd man out. I have a 2016 242 E-Series and I'll leave the bimini on and tow at freeway speeds (65-70). As long as all the straps are tight, that thing is solid. I suppose it probably is hard...

    Blown bearing buddy seal

That's quite strange. How much grease do you pump in there? It should be just enough that a little pressure on one side will rock the cap, don't fill until the spring is completely compressed.
