I didn't leave from Harbor Town I left from Bahia Mar Marina but I was never near any shallow Waters. The insurance adjuster also agreed that it did not look like a direct strike against anything. I found it hard to believe but those guys know more about that type of damage than I do.- Edgar Almonte

I did not have a keel guard. I think a keel guard is more for protecting against scraping against rocks or debris in the water so I'm not sure it would have helped.- Edgar Almonte

The hull damage was from the rough seas crossing to Bimini. At first I thought I must have hit something in the water but the marina that fixed it for me said they had seen that type of damage before and that it is caused from bouncing in rough waters. I did have to get towed back from the 2017 crossing. I had some minor hull damage from the crossing to Bimini that was causing the boat to take on water. I could have driven the boat back to FL but I didn't want to take the chance. It turned out that the trip back to FL the water was beautiful...- Edgar Almonte

Lets take a ride around Manhattan. . . .
The public ramp in Nyack NY (near 287) is a good spot for a ride to NYC. It will cost you about $25 to use the ramp and park your truck and trailer until you get back. The ramp is about 1 mile north of the Tappan Zee Bridge. I have launched my 242 here many times and it takes me a little over 30...- Edgar Almonte

after crossing over to Bimini my boat developed a hairline crack and started taking water. one of my two bilge pumps would turn on every 5 minutes and was able to keep it under control.
