    Fiberglass damage suggestions

I took it to Captain Levi’s in St. Petersburg. He was fast, very good, & cheaper than his estimate.

    Tampa Fiberglass Repair

I recommend Captain Levi’s in St. Pete. Attached is a very similar bit of damage I did to my boat. They fixed this for $450 which was a bit less than the original estimate. He told me that the repair kit would be enough to fix more damage but I didn’t have anything else to fix. I don’t have an...

    Red Tide

Red Tide, not to be confused with the football team that beats the living hell out of every team in sight. Both nasty

    Any mortgage loan originators here?

Pretty awesome that this group seems to have at least one of everything.

    2019 Release coming soon!

@haknslash im pretty sure the engine hatch cushion is removable. Also, did they increase the displacement? It’s 1812 everywhere else but the 195s show 1852

    5v/cylinder? Wow

    Power Application

I looked at this based on your review of the device & others but I don’t think it will work on mine. I have a 4 bolt pattern on my cone. I’ve learned to adapt. Softer acceleration makes for a less noisy co-pilot as well

    Power Application

I was recently on a flight & I noticed that during takeoff the pilot eases into the power, a little to get the plane rolling then progressively ramps up to WOT. I have always noticed them doing this but I never knew why. I assumed it had something to do with giving them a chance to abort takeoff...

    2019 Release coming soon!

That’s because the 26’ has twin SVHOs & a 100 gal fuel tank so it’s not sold in CA

How much use is too much?

I worried about the same my first year when I put right at 100 hrs on it. Then I decided it’s like a new car... you sweat the first few thousand miles then just learn to appreciate the time in it. If I blow it up due to “over use” is that such a bad thing? It may scare people away in the used...

2015 Yamaha AR192 Passenger swivel seat installation.

I actually went the other way (swivel to bench) on my 2017 which was just better for my use. I will sell you the parts way cheaper. PM me if interested.

    High RPMs, Low Speed

At 4,900 you’re probably right on the fringe of planing speed. If you’re 100 rpm under planing speed 9 seems about right. Unless you’re in rougher water these boats don’t really have much ability to hang out between 10-25. They just pass through that zone. Push it to 5200 & see if that doesn’t...

    Need help with anchor

8# Rocna Vulcan for me. I have used it in weedy bottoms, sandy bottoms, & mud bottoms. In every setting it sets instantly with a 2.5-3x scope & I mean it SETS. Fairly certain I wouldn’t be able to drag it at WOT. Expensive but well worth it after I lost my keys off a island beach right near the...

    Stern "beaching" setups

@AZ Native exact setup except I use the 8# Rocna Vulcan off the front & only 1 shore spike. I’m pretty sure that anchor latches onto Earth’s core

Wasn’t Ozark filmed in GA anyway?

    Kidde Fire Extinguisher Recall

Luckily the one I stupidly drilled through yesterday is under recall so they’ll be sending me a new one. Yes, I know these are poor quality extinguishers but at least I learned that you can quite easily puncture them if they malfunction in the event of an emergency. I’m pretty sure I could stab...

    SX240 Co-pilot to J-Bench seat swap

Aside from my careless drilling it was an easy process. As far as I know there is no difference in the hulls/topsides between the AR & SX. It even has a wood reinforcement molded into the fiberglass where the support pole mount bolts on. Very happy with the results. If only I could find the full...

    SX240 Co-pilot to J-Bench seat swap

Great tip. It’s f***ing everywhere. It carried throughout the storage compartments. It’s BC powder. Same effect? Sounds like I’ve got some serious cleaning ahead of me

    SX240 Co-pilot to J-Bench seat swap

Funny you ask. I just finished the same on my SX195. I can’t imagine it’s any different. I got lucky & found a brand new bench seat with hardware for $250. Now I have the benefit of low clearance, a larger Bimini, and a more open layout. It ALMOST went off without a hitch... I drilled through...

    Oil weight

I’ve read that additives in high mileage oil causes seals/gaskets to swell & if used on a low mileage engine could lead to additional wear. The article suggested that while not necessarily a problem you shouldn’t go back to conventional oil after making the change. That was just one article &...
