Yamaha 1.8 starting issue( starter spinning)

Thank you. Yeah the gear moves freely both ways. This is the one I'm talking about in the pic.

Yamaha 1.8 starting issue( starter spinning)

Ran the boat for an hour with no issues. Went to restart and nothing. Just the starter spinning. Towed her back. Thought it was a bad starter or voltage issue. Replaced the starter, relay, battery and no change. When I had the starter out I could spin the gear in the crank housing. I don't...

    Low voltage alarm and batteries

Update. Pulled the connections off the tachometer and one of them had moisture in it. Took the gauge out and could see water trapped in there. So I think that's my problem. Im trying to let it dry out but I cannot take it apart. Any chance of disassembling this thing? Or a good place to buy a...

    Low voltage alarm and batteries

Thanks for the info. Im gonna check the connections today. I have a feeling it's a faulty gauge. I don't think I can get it warrantied since the boat is about 3 years old.

    Low voltage alarm and batteries

So now im puzzled. My batteries tested good. I fully charged then again. Cleaned all connections so there's no corrosion. Hooked everything up including dvsr and now im getting all kinds of errors. From startup the gauge just continually beeps and displays system voltage alarm, low fuel alarm...

    Tinted windshield on FSH?

There's a couple products out there that will work and look "ok". Luxe would be my first choice if I was doing it. I use it to tint taillights and it works great. Madico makes a film called blister free which you could apply to your acrylic and then tint on top of that with a normal auto film...

    Low voltage alarm and batteries

I have a smart charger so I'll do that, if the battery is still good. Have had the boat 2 years and surprised I never noticed the dvsr. I guess that's why my first 2 batteries died. Frustrating. Just hope my ecm is ok. I think I'll keep a voltage meter on the boat and monitor my consumption...

    Low voltage alarm and batteries

So a few questions. I replaced my batteries about 8 months ago with Duracell AGMs. No issues all summer. Took them off the boat in December and put them on a trickle for 3 months. My boat sits in a high and dry. So went out yesterday and drove around for about 30 minutes and got a low voltage...

    Guages and hinges question

Stupid question on the guages on the 190 are they glass or plastic lenses? I want to clean them up. Also my hinges are getting tight and hard to use. Is there an oil I could use on them?

God that is such an eyesore but man I'd love to have one on my boat.

UPDATE!! Seaweed, Lights and Bilge question...

Next time pick a better vacation home. Unfortunately I deal with the floating sea grass here too in the gulf. But only for a short period of time it seems and when you get up to speed it usually cuts right through it. You got a good boat there. This won't happen every time you take it out

Any FSH Owners Near Clearwater, FL area?

Live in Trinity but go out of Tarpon Springs. Love the boat. Thought the boat would be too slow for me. With 2 people on and full tank we get up to 45mph which is better than I hoped for and all the speed I need. Had 7 people on it the other day, bunch of gear and got it to 38. Minor gripes...

Close to pulling the trigger on an FSH Sport, any tips?

My friend has had 2 Pathfinders and they were both the best riding boat I've been on in the 22 to 25 ft range. That being said it is too much of a fishing boat. I felt like I had to be a tournament fisherman to be on it. Beautiful boats though, amazing quality. I can't wait to get on a sea...

Close to pulling the trigger on an FSH Sport, any tips?

I think like Clemson I will probably want to upgrade after this boat but I think it'll make a good first boat. I think that's how it goes for most folks. I'm like you Cat chaser, could go out and get a big payment boat but I usually end up trying to justify everything I buy. When I was...

Close to pulling the trigger on an FSH Sport, any tips?

I hate the idea of it being loud. A friend wanted to sell me his used Angler which is in immaculate condition but it has a 2 stroke mercury and it is horribly loud. Is it loud at low speeds? Been a while since I've been on a jetski but I imagine that loud

Close to pulling the trigger on an FSH Sport, any tips?

@swatski great point about the motor comparison. And yeah this boat with all the accessories we want to add after all the juice will be pushing 40k. So I think I need to go back to examining what exactly we hope to get out off a boat. For one it will probably never see fresh water. There will...

@Corey I also live in Trinity. Do you trailer your boat or have it at a marina?

Close to pulling the trigger on an FSH Sport, any tips?

Thanks again everyone for the shared knowledge. I can already tell this is a great forum. The manager at Cycle Springs said it is very likely Yamaha will be planning a 22 or 24ft. Dual motor center console but it's not in the pipeline just yet. I saw the DLX with that ttop and it is pretty...
