Anybody built a screen for the intake?

Mesh would cause air bubbles to form = cavitation. The pump would probably lose tons of pressure. I like jet boats, but sadly it may be that for some waterways, they aren't ideal. Pros and cons. Ropes can obviously be avoided assuming you're careful, but if you have things like wood floating...

Replacing the Interior in 2016 Scarab 195ID

Never heard of such a manual. Sorry.

Ugh, fuel float stuck again. Thoughts on this?

Sorry @TeenGee , it's not the case. To be clear, it gets caught while in the complete, upright, vertical position. Nowhere else (assuming the sender is oriented correctly). When it's in the vertical position, it touches the top of the tank. If the float is pushed a little too far past that...

Ugh, fuel float stuck again. Thoughts on this?

The float is part of the fuel sender. Located under your middle seat, under the access panel. Getting it out is tricky and best done when you're low on fuel to avoid making a mess. Definitely not when it's full. Essentially, pull up the middle seat, remove 6 screws, clamp off the fuel line...

    2017 Scarab 165G Motor Issue

lol Glad we were somewhat helpful. The fact that it did intially stall and the kinks worked themselves out really points to the gas as @Cobra Jet Steering LLC mentioned. It's possible the new plugs helped, but this sounds like a gas issue. You got the bad stuff out. I suspect your problems are...

    2017 Scarab 165G Motor Issue

What @Cobra Jet Steering LLC in general are all good things to do regardless. But if the boat was running fine a month or so ago, it's unlikely it's stale gas, etc. Unless you somehow got water in there yourself due to X. Every time you turn on the ignition, your pump should turn on (you can...

Actually, re reading, I'm not sure what he means. Implying an air filter on the tank.... but there isn't one.

He means the big red one on the side of the engine. They don't usually get dirty but since you don't know the history of the boat, check it for sure.

Fuel smell???? That is definitely not normal. I'd investigate that asap. Nevermind electrical connections right now. You need to check your fuel line and all associated connections. Under your middle seat as mentioned before is an access panel, 6 screws and you can see teh top of the fuel...

MPEM does not show up anywhere on the parts diagram. I've also never heard of this in any of the Scarab world. ECUs on the other hand... those ARE in the parts diagram and I've heard plenty about them. Based on your description, I think you mean the ECU on these. Part 60 in the diagram. But the...

I can see why there may be confusion.... I've only been on Rotax engines since relatively recently. But I can see from this page that the MPEM and ECU used to be the same. What is MPEM and ECU on a Sea-Doo? [Explained] - JetDrift

    2017 Scarab 165G Motor Issue

@Cobra Jet Steering LLC I don't think newer Rotax engines have an MPEM anymore. It's just a fuse box. There's an ECU though... is that what you're trying to say? Engine Control Unit. Those are not the same.

    2017 Scarab 165G Motor Issue

If the new relay (in fact, there are two relays in that fuse box behind your battery) and ignition switch were replaced correctly and have proper connections, it won't explain the issue. But if either isn't seated properly, or a terminal is loose, wire damaged during the install proces...

    2017 Scarab 165G Motor Issue

to my knowledge, the mpem is a fuse box on our boats. It's the fuse box located behind your battery. All the electrical connections related to the engine are there. As I was saying, you need to inspect all electrical connections (which includes this fuse box) + the red master switch also located...

    2017 Scarab 165G Motor Issue

Yeah, if you've checked the plugs, it's less likely, but very inexpensive to replace them. Also, inspect the ignition coils, make sure there's no damage/corrosion and that they are properly seated on the spark plugs. Presumably the small silver terminals on the spark plugs have been correctly...

    2017 Scarab 165G Motor Issue

First, just to ensure you have the correct information, your engine is a 150HP, not 130. Also, it's called a supercharger, not a turbo. Turbos are a different type of device. They both give extra power but using different methods entirely. Rotax engines use superchargers on the bigger HP...
