Ribbon removal - 2022 FX Cruiser HO

You can accomplish something similar with pump shims, but it won't be adjustable.

Ribbon removal - 2022 FX Cruiser HO

It just allows the trim to be able to push the nozzle higher than stock. Gives the ski just a little more lift for a smoother ride and higher top speed.

HELP NEEDED! Brand new VX Cruiser HO check engine light & Temp light

I'm sure you know this but you can silence the beeping from the touch-screen.

HELP NEEDED! Brand new VX Cruiser HO check engine light & Temp light

Had the exact same problem on our 2022 FX Cruiser HO. Called the service department of our Yamaha dealership and the crusty old mechanic told me it was a common problem that he has seen recently. He told me to just ride it normal (no sustained RPM and no wide open) for about 3-5 minutes, bring...

Ribbon removal - 2022 FX Cruiser HO

Oh I pulled the rubber surround as well. Top speed before the ribbon/breather/airfilter mods was 61-62. We are right at sea level. One thing I just thought of was last year I did install the Worx R.I.D.E. trim extension. $30ish bucks and well worth it. Only other motor I've pulled ribbon...

Ribbon removal - 2022 FX Cruiser HO

Follow up to close out this thread - I ended up pulling the ribbon. 1 - It is not behind the intake manifold, just behind the throttle body mounting plate. 2 – I did not add a Riva spacer or anything, so my results may be different 3 – I did replace the OEM air box and engine breather with Worx...

Ribbon removal - 2022 FX Cruiser HO

Anyone pulled the ribbon on a 2018 or newer Yamaha 1.8 - non-supercharged? I did it on my boat ('17 212X) and liked the results, but the 2018 and newer watercraft all have it housed in the intake manifold, so it is a pain to get to. Before I tackle it I want to find out if it is worth the...

One picture of your last outing.

44F in Oregon and river at flood stage. Sure. Why not.

Watched my 17' 212X drive away with someone else. Bittersweet. GP1800r to come soon though...so I'll keep my account active.

The powers that be must not want me to boat this year. I'm on day 22 of waiting for my oil filters to make it here via FedEx. This is the second order - first one FedEx lost. Temps in the PNW are hitting 80 this weekend....and its killing me! Next year I'll just hit the Yamaha dealer like I...

    NEW Thrust Vector Test Footage

@JetBoatPilot I'm certain I'm asking questions that have been answered somewhere on this forum...but I have yet to find the answer. So those of us who have the TV Wake installed are there huge advantages to the new system? I know mine is still a bear to steer at speed even though I'm using the...

Cant wait to see how this new 255 will be for surfing

Really curious why they didn't increase the ballast much? With all that storage I wonder if there is room for add on bags hidden in compartments but I bet it will be a while before someone wants to drill another hole in their $90k investment for more pumps.

FINALLY got to use my new RideSteady from @Ridesteady and surf my new Slingshot Cobracat from @J-RAD Transom Water Sports. Best Father's Day ever - went rope-less and loved the board while my wife loved Ridesteady! Best part is no pics of my chubby white buns so I don't have to feel guilty...

    Thinking about Yamaha FatSac

I added a center cleat to my 21 - it was simple and cheap. I'll try and get a pic of it today if it stops raining here. I put a small metal plate on the back of it to distribute the weight and it has worked great. So my typical tie down of transom bags goes from tower to center cleat to outer...

    Grease on Seadek

Simple Green and a pressure washer. Had to do the same. Grease and Doritos (now banned on boat). Pressure washer make sure to go with the grain and hold it at least half a foot away.

JetBoatPilot's New Surf Tech, Thrust Vector Wake

We lay a wet towel down and trap it under the ballast bag on the deck. Still have put a couple nicks in the hydro turf though. It is way nicer when the water is cold to step off, but the downside is if you crash boy is that a shock!

    2017 212X...... Surfing? Nope.

I had a couple talks with Wakemakers about this - they are local for us. They did some great custom bags for @bobbie (look up her profile if she is still around). It is close to a $3k investment with some shortcomings. Mainly Connext. You cannot adjust the timers out that far so your choices...

Show Us Your Wake! (surfing mods comparo)

For the 360 attempt do you remove ALL fins from the board, or keep one on? Curious because I'm ready to crash/try!
