2018 or 2019 242 Limited SE, Coming from Cobalt 220

I went Yamaha after owning a Chaparral Vortex. Maintenance access meant a lot. No one would touch a Vortex, yet Yamaha boat mechanics are everywhere

Jet Boat Pilot Lateral Thrusters and Thrust Vectors Issues + Questions

I was under the impression that thrust vectors and lateral thrusters weren't necessary due to the newer level design. Is this not the case?

    Gas <what octane level?>

Is regular gas the best option for the Yamaha? I’ve always been told that Premium was necessary for all boat engines.

    Yamaha AR240 VS 242 Limited S

Around 10% on the Limited and 4% on the AR. The ARs are evidently easier to sell

    Yamaha AR240 VS 242 Limited S

Is the Limited S worth the extra count over the AR? Other than a few speakers, lights and the sea deck, seems like the AR is a better deal. Am I missing anything?

Boat shopping time. I’m between the 212 and 242 Limited S

I need to upgrade in size and power from my Chaparral Vortex 203. The single 250 is great when its just four riding, but with 8 it doesn’t tow too well. I know the 212 and 243 are similar in size, but quite a difference in price. Is the extra coin worth it to upsize to the 243?
