    Black wake tower corrosion - 2014 242

I am curious to see if anyone else with a black aluminum wake tower has experienced this level of corrosion. This is the factory-installed DiamondBack wake tower on a 2014 Yamaha 242 Limited S. To me, it seems excessive on a boat that's been used exclusively in freshwater and under cover its...

    New PerfectPass product??

Sorry that screenshot was slightly misleading as it was taken yesterday before Will posted his apology. Regardless, it was still after Monday when JBP supposedly decided to make things right. I really didn't want to get into this but couldn't stand to see Ridesteady's reputation denigrated.

    New PerfectPass product??

It just doesn't feel like honest marketing @JetBoatPilot to say "higher quality build, smoother pull, technically superior." How did you assess those claims if you were still waiting on the unit? More food for thought... It's really a shame to see how JBP has handled this. But after seeing...

Those of you on lifts, bow or stern in?

Bow in. We have a boathouse lift on open water and wind is a major variable. Cobra fins/fangs do help but only to an extent; no way I’d attempt stern in with even moderate chop. For calm water, stern in seems like a winner. As others mentioned, the mooring cover can be a pain to secure...

    SOLD 242 Bow Cover (smoke)

Our kids love playing under the bow cover—their own little fort on the water. It also extends the boating season a good bit as temps drop. Too bad yours won’t fit a 2014 or I’d pick it up as a spare. Great deal for someone!

    Springfield Pedestal Adjustment

Sorry to hear some of you having issues. The dissimilar metal explanation makes sense. Luckily, on my 2014, the screws on the base came right out using an impact driver and a P3 bit. The screws on the seat base were another matter. One of the hex heads was stripped from the factory (!!) and had...

Battery powered and hard wired LED tow point mount

First off, I love Jeremy’s mod! But after just two seasons of light use, the Navisafe LED has failed. The switch won’t depress at all so the light won’t turn on. The Navisafe hasn’t been used more than 5 times and when not in use it’s been stored in a storage compartment (hot and humid but never...

    Landing loop

We use a telescoping Boat Loop pole (aka limb saver): http://www.amazon.com/The-Boat-Loop/dp/B00IASXEG6/ You can use the loop to "pull" the boat in, or the rubber stopper to push it off/out. Really useful on windy days.

Review of the all New 2016 Yamaha 242X E-Series Wake Sports jet boat

Fantastic work, Julian et al, on rolling out all the new info. Huge leap over how information trickled out in previous years. Really great to see Yamaha stepping up with the higher level trims. And that electronic throttle...wow! Thanks for bringing us this first look!

Shoes <what do you wear boating?>

Would prefer flip flops but have had one too many close calls at the dock. Now it's Crocs only or barefoot.

    Dock stereo suggestions???

@Kelso, working on a similar upgrade here and have been very pleased with the sound and clarity of these Yamaha speakers of all brands: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0001VHARE/ For now, I've just stuffed a cheap, underpowered but otherwise excellent little Lepai amp unit and a bluetooth...

Here's my current deal / pricing on a new 242 Limited - Any thoughts from anyone who has shopped?

Here's a lift cradle (work-in-progress)... +1 on GSPS in Alabama. It was well worth the drive for us from Houston.

Comments on snap cover here... https://jetboaters.net/threads/need-advice.5161/page-2#post-89161 Slip width is a major factor. Also may want to consider guide posts if it's a wide cradle (10ft +) and/or in open water.

Here's my current deal / pricing on a new 242 Limited - Any thoughts from anyone who has shopped?

You're still getting a trailer with that price, right? Your prices for galvanized v. aluminum cradles seem about right for Texas. A lot of installers are backlogged this time of year so all the better if dealer can guarantee a completion date. I just posted in another thread and would strongly...

    Need advice

Congrats on the purchase! Something to consider...if your slip is at all oversized, it can be very difficult if not dangerous to lean over the pier far enough to secure a more traditional mooring cover. It's even worse if wind is a factor or you're working by yourself. My slip is 13ft wide and...
